I have a Sony GDM-FW900 CRT. Are there any utilities that will help me set the brightness, contrast, gamma, etc.?
I think the darks could be a little "darker."

If you want to properly calibrate it (colors, luminance, etc.) then you need to buy a hardware calibrating solution.
As per images that can help you calibrate by eye,

Open these up in a color-calibrated program for best results.

Go have a look at the HardOCP forum thread about it.
