10.3 beta drivers

Post by tbaerg »

I've been fiddling with the 10.3 beta catalyst drivers. I cannot active the option for bezel correction and wondered if anyone had any better luck. If I try to create a new group my resolution drops to 640x480 on all 3 monitors and if I try to arrange my group then I crach CCC. Has anyone else had any better luck?

I've had no problems with the 10.3 drivers. I think you might do well with uninstalling them and reinstalling them, maybe even re downloading the drivers first.

would it be possible for you to post a picture of your information center where it displays the driver version, catalyst version and so-on. I'm checking mine against another user from the guru3d forum and I have a different catalyst control center version than what he had. His was 2010.0210.1730.31317 whereas mine is 2010.0205.1306.23449. I've uninstalled and reinstalled so many times my head is spinning. i've been using drive sweeper everytime, so I'm not sure what I'm missing here but this seems to be the cause of my failure to get bezel correction.

is it possible this is a crossfire issue. Tanshin I only saw one adapter in your signature, but I was only skimming while I thought of it. I haven't tried bezel correction without cross fire. I'm running 2x5850. I'm redownloading right now.

tanshin, could you post the link for where you got your drivers I checked the version that I just downloaded and not only is the CCC version wrong, but the driver is also incorrect.

thanks tanshin. I finally have the proper driver versions now. I still can't find the option for bezel correction. The only options I have is for arrange, disable and create group. Do you have identical monitors? Disabling crossfire didn't help me, but hopefully others had better luck.

Try creating a group first, as I did not have the option until I created the group. Also, it should give you the option to use bezel management after arranging your group when creating. if that made sense.

That made sense. I have a group created and arranged and I'm sitting at 5760x1200 right now. But the bezel correction option isn't displayed in the menu. I've seen a couple other people also having this problem. I wasn't sure if it would be worth trying to fudge the EDID in my one mismatched monitor to see if they would play nicely together. I'll probably just suck it up and wait for the official 10.3's. These are doing just fine for me now, I just like fiddling with new features.

I'm getting exactly the same problem, with or without CrossfireX enabled. Gutted, really wanted to try out the bezel compensation. I'll keep trying but would appreciate an update if any of you guys manage to find a solution. Cheers.

It is working for me and I just installed over the older driver. The bezel compensation screen would not pop up at first when clicking on it. However after a restart it went right to the adjustment screen after clicking on it. I have to say these seem to be the magic drivers. I am getting huge gains with a single card and the bezel compensation is awesome. Keep up the great work ATI I now have faith and purchased another ATI card a HD5770 for my HTPC.

Here is what mine looks like and notice it does not say the driver version.

Driver Packaging Version 8.71.3-100205a-095620E
Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1010
2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/CLASS/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0001
Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0735
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.9606
Catalyst™ Control Center Version 2010.0205.1306.23449

That is really odd because they are working great for me. I have not had any problems at all and they are exactly what I was wanting.
Win7 64 bit here.

Yes, same setup here Win7 64 bits.

Whats odd is that ATi did something to their drivers starting with 10.2, i cant install 10.2 either, i keep getting Driver Fail Installation errors after running their installer, that is to say, everything installs fine, CCC, AVIVO, etc but the Display driver fails.

There are a lot of folks over at ATi forums complaining about this, i hope they rectify it, BTW i tried everything, Driver cleaners, Registry Fixes, Uninstalling native Win 7 Drivers and nothing.

Installing 10.1 tho its a breeze and works everytime
