Go play PARANOIA right now. Seriously.

It's a Half-Life 1 mod, and damn, it's amazing. For starters, it gets so much mileage out of the engine it should be illegal - this could seriously pass as a 2003 game, with high res textures, bump mapping, gloss, advanced lighting effects, weather effects, and iron sights for all weapons.
The campaign is short, but brilliantly crafted. There are basically three acts, and the first one is essentially a tutorial. The second is a semi-tactical shooter similar to a Call of Duty 4 mission, and then the third is a freaky, suspenseful survival horror-ish deal. But the level of detail throughout it all is just incredible. Aside from the ever-present visual touches that always complement the setting perfectly, squadmates chat with you through the radio, and it sounds like it could pass for squawks taken from a real world operation. Your helmet can be raised or lowered at will to protect yourself from headshots, and visibly affects the first person view when you use it.
Oh, and also, the dialogue is all in Russian, with English subtitles. I think it's neat that they did this, and I wouldn't mind seeing some commercial games that used this approach - it reminds me of STALKER and my regret that they felt it necessary to dub the main dialog for its international release.
Get it here. Now.
