So i made the game accept 1680x1050, but it's all so close up...

Can't I edit the camer height by at least 100%? I know you people made this fix for battle for middle earth 2, I am hoping you can do the same for part1.

Thanks for reading!

The BFME2 mods required quite a bit of work. I can add BFME1 to my project list, but honestly I don't know when I'll have the time to produce a mod for it.

I'll try to give it a quick look sometime soon. When or if I manage to create a fix/mod I'll post a note in this thread.

I tweaked all the maps including multiplayer maps, uuuuhhh... it was huge work and almost took ½ hour to do the very repeative work. :o

I wanted to it to remain as close as the original (4:3) as possible and so I changed the camera zoom out "only" +33% (400 from 300 for the most maps) so it should be perfect for 16:9 and maybe a bit further for 16:10 than in vanilla 4:3 screen.

Vanilla 5:4

Before 16:9 (vert-)

After 16:9 (hor+)

Make a backup of Maps.big and extract this file to your bfme folder. Or you can also use it as a mod. This should work with all versions as far as I can tell, but atleast with 1.03.

I registered just to say thanks! I have both the BFME games, and the expansion, but nothing quite compares to the simple elegance of BFME 1. With the map mods, I don't have to feel like my face is in the ground while I'm playing. Now all we need are some updated textures... :cP

Megaupload has been closed, so that link is broken.

Could someone up the modded maps to another site, or send me the file?

Thanks.

Its doable, you have to edit each individual map. Think it took me about 15 mins to do it all (did it about a month ago).

There is a great youtube video guide on this.

Please ignore the fact that it talks about BFME 2 the principle is the same for the first one.

The camera default is 300 if I remember. I changed it to 1000.

Works a treat.
