Spider-Man Web of Shadows Triplehead fix

Here are fixed executables for Spider-Man. TH and WTH included. From the readme:

Code: Select all

Game version: 1.1

Install:
-Navigate to the ..\Spider-Man - Web of Shadows\ directory.
-Backup the original Spider-Man Web of Shadows.exe file to a different location, then replace it with the appropriate version from this archive. (note: fixed exe is also a no-cd version)

Known issues:
1) Textures and game objects near the left and right screen edges will disappear when outside a certain FOV. It seems the game has a culling mechanism fixed on a 16:9 AR. Not sure if this can be corrected.
2) The menu system gets squished together and text overlaps. It is fully functional, though.

My first foray into FOV hacking. Not perfect, but it's a start. :)

Grats on your first hack :D

Hows the game itself, worth playing?

Grats on your first hack :D

Hows the game itself, worth playing?

Thanks.

I'm only a short way into the game, but it's very playable and enjoyable. I picked it up off Amazon for ~$5 because I was having so much fun with Spider-Man 3 (an underrated title) that I wanted more Spider-Man action. :D Combat seems a little easier & simplified in WoS, but the swinging/acrobatics is also smoother and easier to control. Plus, switching between the red/black suits at will is sweet. If you are on the sidewalk in the red suit with citizens standing around you cheering, the moment you switch to black they get scared and backpedal. :P

Sounds like it may share some gameplay characteristics with prototype.

I have yet to try that one out triple wide.
