I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. Everything about it(so far) is great. It's not the most amazing game in the world, but just the fact that it's comedic is great. The comedy factor is SUCH a change from all these other games lately. It's welcomed for sure.
I'm not far, but I am guessing this will be one of my favorite games. If not of all time, definitely of the past couple years.
Get it!

Impossible, a game based on a movie that doesn't suck? I will not allow myself to believe such lies.

Hmm My friend over at valve was playing it the other day, due to them receiving the gold copy ready for steam. It was released on steam today.

Anyway he was really enjoying it as well, sadly though he said that he found playing with a controller better than a keyboard when playing the game, which seems to be pretty common these days.

It feels very solid on a controller, that's for sure.

I assume you mean a movie-based game that's good, and not a game that's based on a good movie, right?

I liked the Wolverine game enough to finish it. Goldeneye..... ummm.... i also enjoyed Tron 2.0.

The list of bad ones is HUUUUUUUUGE.

Spiderman 2 Is also regarded as a great movie game.

I enjoyed the Wall-E and Up games though I could definitely see someone arguing that they were not good at all. meh.

Then you've got The Chronicles of Riddick, a good game based on a bad movie.

That's strange. What country or region are you in? I'm in Canada, and I bought the PC version in a store on June 17.

With the insane prices in AU, wouldn't it be cheaper - or at elast as much - to order one from elsewhere? Or through D2D or something?

OK, after getting blindsided with comments on the humor in this game after assuming I would not like it for being rehashed, dry, one liners from the movies, I promised I would try it and report back. Thanks for challenging me on my taste in humor. Even though the humor comments were a bit assumptive and incorrect regarding my meaning, I really enjoyed the game.

This game certainly caught me by surprise. I was thinking what's all the fuss when people were anxiously awaiting it. After having been a bit burned out on the humor in the movies, I thought this would just be a casual re-visitation of the same old one liners with fairly tame, easy gameplay.

While the humor is a bit dry and too familiar in places, it's the gameplay that hooked me. They actually managed to make some parts a tad creepy, and the humor is not all rehashed. I got quite engaged in the gameplay, as it offers some pretty good challenges and is unique to that of other games.

Due to my low system spec of P4 3GHz, X1950Pro, and 2GB RAM, I decided to play the 1st run on the lowest difficulty with the lag I was getting. I then managed to beat it on Experienced, but broke down and upgraded at the stone angel fight and the "monster mash" with the entire squad thereafter.

After that I got the silly notion in my head that I could beat it on Pro with no upgrades if I just carefully went about battling the ghosts, healing squad mates and using cover where needed. What I feared most were the places with only one squad mate for help. Well some spots were tough, but I managed to do it in just over 7.5 hrs of play time.

Thanks to the person on the GB Atari forum whom suggested the stand at the gate method to get the gate open at the stone angel fight. It was by far the most useful strategy I encountered. I got the gate open in under 30 seconds. The part just after with the 2 Keyhead Monsters, multiple Cultists, Grave Fiends, Cemetery Crawlers and Stone Angels was harder. It requires quickly wearing down and trapping the Cultists and running about constantly to heal squad mates while switching weapons to deal with the many other enemies, all the while trying to avoid getting hung up on the debris.

The final 2 part battle by comparison is rather easy. I never got knocked down or had to take on the spawning creatures for either phase of it. I was a bit glad for that though because I get more lag in the 2nd phase of that battle than anywhere in the game. The cutscene at the end of the battle is quite good too.

Now it's on to try a 4th go at it just for fun, in which I will use as many upgrades as possible. I've yet to even try the Fast Trap or Slam Trap for instance. Here's a couple screens, one showing the last checkpoint save, the other my end game career stats.

I pity those laboring over the Nice Shooting Tex achievement. I was purposely destroying things in a lot of places prior to battles just to avoid getting stuck on them. Still though, I suppose a $544,245 Total Damage Claim after beating it on Pro with no upgrades isn't bad, but it's hardly tidy.

This is a game I've been wanting to pick up but haven't decided whether or not it's worth it... But a lot of people seem to enjoy it.

Decisions, decisions...

Frack it, I guess I'll bite the bullet and shell out the sixty bucks.
