Prey

Editing preyconfig.cfg:
seta r_customHeight "XXXX"
seta r_customWidth "XXXX"
seta r_mode "-1"
we must also change
seta r_aspectRatio "1"

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
Here is another story. FOV problem can't be solved at this moment. But we still can change AspectRatio for this game:
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2Datasettingsrenderer_settings.xml
my suggestion is to use 2.3 - 2.5 value

You're doing something wrong. Follow the link to the surround solution from the Prey article in the WSGF wiki.
BTW glad to see there is still some love for Prey!

For the record (and afaik) you will still get a slightly stretched picture when playing in Wide TH (3x 16:10). Paddy's modded dlls are for 'classic' 15:4 TripleHead. Still, it should look much better than what you currently get.

I find it in Widescreen lists - Games section. The reason I didn't try it earlier is that name of section is "Widescreen" but not "Surround"
Million apologys!

OK I tried the solution that is listed on up link post. But I find out that my problem is deeper.
I figured out that when I am trying to opimize Prey to use 5040x1050 it tells me:
Please Note: Please run game once before optimizing, in order to create the config file
But I already run it a lot of times!
And when I run game in Options section I can't find 5040x1050 res to select. Really I cant select non of SG res.
P.S.: And yes I try to change 16:9 Aspect Ratio :(

Please take a closer (much closer) look at the games WSGFwiki article found in the Widescreen list. It clearly explains what you need to do with the .cfg file and otherwise.

Can't find anything else except tweaking of preyconfig.cfg file.
Edit preyconfig.cfg, and look for these lines:
seta r_customHeight "xxx"
seta r_customWidth "xxxx"
Now look for this line:
seta r_mode "x"
Change it to:
seta r_mode "-1"
But all of this is already done by SGU so lines in my preyconfig.cfg is the same and I have nothing to change there.
Actually in Video options I even can't set 5040x1050 res because there no even one HT res available. Or if I must use 1680x1050 and in the game I still geting 5040x1050?
I really messed up with all of this
So the best that I can beat out of Doom3Engine (Prey) is this:
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/5641/prey200906131500263950.jpg
http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/2715/prey200906131500128550e.jpg
It is stretched and fisheye but it's OK to me. Only thing that irritates me is weapon bug :(

Finaly! It can't be! I did it :P
So additionally to
Edit preyconfig.cfg, and look for these lines:
seta r_customHeight "xxx"
seta r_customWidth "xxxx"
Now look for this line:
seta r_mode "x"
Change it to:
seta r_mode "-1"
We must use
seta r_aspectRatio "1"!
I really can't get why SGU don't fit this line, why in manual there is no even a word about
seta r_aspectRatio...
But I am glad that one way or another problem is solved!
P.S.: Anyway can someone tell wat;s wrong with SGU? If the game is in the list why it ant fix it yhe way it must?

OK now. So now when Prey is OK I'd like to pay attention on another game.
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2
So here we have same situation - this game is supported by SGU but the result is terrible!
So why just
why SGU didn't do tweaks that it must do? Where is additional fov? Why even nothing done with Aspect Ratio?
Рonestly I was buying Matrox with ony one purpose - not to dance around every single game, no tweaking .ini.dll rtc files, no forumsitemanual surfing... So now I see that I was wrong :?
But that is offtopic sorry.
So I understand that main tweaking file is
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2DataSettingsrenderer_settings.xml
I cant find nothing to do with FOV but AspectRatio is in there under
on very top.
So here is result with trying something out:
(Original)
So we can see that best option is 2.5 but it still far far away from original because I can't find where FOV line is:
Original single monitor

Trying to set 5040x1050 but it isn't matter - another TH resolutions gives the same effect (no FOV enhancement)

I'm playing it through again now, using your suggested 2.5 aspect ratio settings. But this will be my first time in TH.
I had a look at the old GRAW 1 settings to see if there was any difference I could spot since I remember people saying the FOV in GRAW 1 was OK.
This is my GRAW1 Render_settings file.
adapter = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280"
driver = "nvd3dum.dll"
resolution = "3840 1024"
windowed = "false"
refresh_rate = "60"
/>
I tried setting aspect ratio on GRAW 2 to 0 as in GRAW but that =fail.
It is of note that the Render_settings file in GRAW2 is stored in a different place on Windows Vista.

Hmm... In GRAW1 there no FOV mention in it's render file like in GRAW2. By the way can u confirm info that there is no FOV problem with GRAW1 in TH res?

Yeh I get it! YHX for the link. I add info in first post just in case.
Second GRAW in some reasons can't be set to use another FOV value just for now. May be next patch fix it... and may be not :D
