I've updated my Bioshock to version 1.1 as SGU tells me to.
But I can't see the resolution 5040x1050 available and the max resolution I can set is 3840x1024.

I've searched for a solution but didn't find it. Does anybody know and maybe have had this problem also?

You are probably running Bioshock in Vista / dx10 mode, to get the higher resolution you have to add -dx9 to the shortcut properties.
