WPA/WPA2 Question

Post by maxxfurygts »

Wasn't sure if this belonged in the software or hardware section, oh well.

Hypothetical question: does anyone know if it's possible for a wireless card that supports up to WPA security(either Personal or Enterprise) to connect to a router that's running WPA2 (P/E)?

Thanks in advance.

Theory: yes.
Practical: maybe.

As far as I can tell the main difference between WPA1 and 2 is using tkip or aes encryption.

If your router can be set to wpa2 tkip+aes it should work.

One router I looked at recently listed it as 'wpa mixed'.
