Anyone had a go on one of these?

I'm wondering what 3 of them would be like hooked up to a Th2Go... :)

Don't these displays require 2 monitor inputs just to run the stereo? That could most likely make it impossable to do unless it would work with 2 TH2G? You've gotta have guts to buy that much and not know it would work for sure. :)

The largest single problem with surround gaming is what sounds cool and what works are almost always 2 drasticly different situations.

It's actually single DVI with special NVidia Stereo driver installed. The new version of the Stereo driver has support for these monitors by polarizing the image. You get a pair of polarized glasses, and lines that are positively polarized, come through on the left eye, and negative on the right. However this effectively halves the screen's horizontal resolution as the same image is drawn 2 ways on alternating lines (1080p->540p). A better solution would be the colored 3d scheme, and with the NVidia stereo driver, you can pick Red/Blue, or Red/Cyan (better color through the glasses if you have a Red/Cyan pair). But if you wanna play around with easy 3D, get polarized glasses (each one of those screens comes with a pair), and the nvidia driver, and triple screen that shit. Let us know how it looks.

If you've got anaglyph (red/blue) glasses you can use the stereo drivers to get an idea what the '3d' effect is. I tried it, so far the only 3d part is the sli marker when enabled that seems to float on top everything else.

Not much overall.

Shame they dropped lcd shutter glasses, at least those worked a little bit better.

Let's assume 3 trimon monitors worked with a th2g (doubtful as the signaling would have to go through is unaltered, which wouldn't really work as the th2g splits 1 signal in 3 / converts it.

Then you'd have the problem of being in the 'perfect spot' in front of all 3 monitors at once. Sure they'll say you can move a bit but more then likely to get the full 3d effect from the monitor you can't be closer or farther than a certain point.

Good luck positioning your monitors to achieve that.

Actually it doesn't convert at all, it just splits the horizontal lines to be displayed on each screen seperately as they're fed. Technically, if you enabled the polarized drawing system, it's still going to draw the screen in polarized split:

It's just going to do it with insanely wide horizontal lines. I can see 3 trimons working, but yes, the angle of the monitors is going to need to be just right so you catch everything. However, the actual angle at which you're looking at the monitor does NOT matter with polarized glasses as they just seperate the lines from one another to help draw two seperate frames in each of your eyes. I'm kinda scared to think of how much of a headache somebody would get from something being split between the bezels all the time... Also with polarized glasses, distance does not matter. IMAX shows 3D movies with polarized glasses now, and I remember when they used to use Anaglyphic ones. The only effect distance is going to have on polarized glasses is how big the image is actually going to appear. So the further you are, the smaller it is. Just natural.

I've already tried my Th2Go with some of those eDimensional glasses and it actually works (HL2 is f*kin amazing!) but the flicker is epilepsy-inducing :(

It will be interesting to see how it works, I dont think I would get much of an effect because my eyes don't see 3d effects really well (I have an astigmatism which makes one of my eyes cross without my glasses, so glasses fix it but 3d never works for me)

I can sympathise with you packerfan, I have a friend who seems utterly incapable of seeing *any* kind of 3d optical illusion. Even after playing HL2 on my eDimensional glasses for a couple of hours he claimed to be unable to see any difference beyond the flickering.

On the plus side, they sell clip-on polarizing filters, so you could wear your specs, and use the monitor :)
