widescreen for battlefied 2 2142

my monitor has a 1600x1000 res but in battlefield it only has 1400x1000 is there any fix that. thanks

Have you tried setting the resolution via command line?:
e.g.
BF2.exe +szx 1440 +szy 900 +menu 1 +widescreen 1
