Widescreen Gaming Forum

Hello...

i just started playing portal, which is part of the Orange Box pack for HL2...
after checking the master games list here, i found that HL2 supports hor+ widescreen and surround gaming without any problems...

the thing is... surrond gaming needs some unconventional resolutions... which are sadly not listed in the video settings screen in the game...

so i though, there must be a config file somewhere in there where i can manually set my resolution (3840x1024)...the trouble is finding said file :P

after some searching without any results, i decided to ask here if anyone knows where in the game or in it's config files i can set the 3Head resolution

Set the aspect ratio in game to 16:9 and then your surround res will be avail.

Yup, it works perfectly if you do it that way!
