The info is great ... if you could post a 1680x1050 screenshot from exactly the same place as this one below it would be good ... I could then post a "solution" ... for widescreen.

Thanks bud ... 8)

Codemasters is about 5-10 mins from my house ... no way to get in though they have VERY tight security ...
Well thinking again ... they often hire people (I hear £5.50 an hour) to test games ... evil plot begins to hatch ... ...

Although I love the Colin McRae Rally games, I didn't bother downloading this one due to StarForce. I don't want that sh!t f***ing up my system.

And the game probably won't run all too smoothly on my system anyway. If I had a 360 or a PS3, I'd probably want to buy it though.

How is the demo, though? I hope all those non-World Rally Championship style races won't make the game too arcadey, overall.

It's 110% arcadey i'm afraid to say.

Going from Richard Burns' Rally to this is a bit of a shock.

And btw, i don't think the Demo actually installs a Starforce driver on your system. I can't find it if it has, so I'd say you're alright to get the demo at least.

From here ...
I might get the game but I have a feeling it comes with StarForce ... :(
Whilst the demo didn't install any hidden drivers that I can find ...
I see this in the games folder ...

I agree ... it is very "arcade" game ... (but I like that.)

It may have the application which runs with the game, but i mean it hasn't seemingly installed the driver into your system. Check your Non-plug N Play devices, i can't find it anywhere other than the game directory.

I figure that if you simply deleted DIRT, Starforce would be gone with it.
No?

Agreed ... I can't find it anywhere other than the game directory either.
So yeah ... remove the demo and it should be gone ... I think.

Please post in this thread to tell Codemasters you don't want Starforce ... http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187313&page=1&pp=10

Here is a video of what Starforce can do ... ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1gX9oQlwPA

Starforce aside, this is an amazing demo. On high settings it looks absolutely amazing and the racing is that realistic but not too realistic style I really like.

Big thumbs up and $50 for Dirt.

Bah, D/L it from gamespot, installed it, played it...

Runs pretty good at full 1920x1080 with all settings at medium. Doesnt Play good tho :/ even with an xbox 360 controller it was like being on ice. My steering would lock out one way then the other. Looked like I was driving trying to dodge land mines.

I was more busy counter steering than anything.

Im sure with some tweaking of the controls that can be fixed or atleast get better but one thing I can not deal with on this game...

The L O A D I N G.... what kind of game takes what feels like 2 mintues to load the freakin menu, then 2 more for the cars, then 2 or 3 more for the race. Then do it all over again. Not to mention requireing a restart for change in graphics or audio.

I only played 2 races and had to quit the loading drove me insane.

I seriously did not have that much loading... maybe defrag? I just defragged last night. Mine went through three or four stat numbers and then boom, I was racing.
