Widescreen Grade: AUltra-Widescreen Grade: IncompleteMulti-monitor Grade: A4k Grade: IncompleteRead Full Detailed Report - ARMA: Armed AssaultArmed Assault is a military FPS from Bohemia Interactive and IDEA Games. Gameplay and technology is similar to Operation Flashpoint, which was also developed by Bohemia Interactive. The campaign takes place on a fictional Atlantic island, and follows a conflict between a communist regine and a democratic monarchy. You play as a US soldier in a squad, and must aid the local militia in fending off an offensive by the northern regime. Gameplay, like Operation Flashpoint, emphasizes realism, attention to detail, and very large maps (up to 250 square miles).

I'm not observing that behavior. Here's screenshots of my non-stretched rifle scope:

Can you post screenshots showing what you mean?

Try sniper rifles, and tank gunner Wink
Does the demo have any of that? If so, what's the easiest way to try?
btw, how can I capture screenshots?
I use FRAPS.

You can also use Alt+Print Scrn and paste into MS Paint, but FRAPS is a lot nicer.

Those don't really show me what I need to know. Can you post comparison screenshots?
Two screenshots from the same place, one at a 4:3 resolution with aspect ratio set to 4:3, and one at a 16:10 resolution with aspect ratio set to 16:10.

Just an fyi, they don't need to necessarily be from the same place. What you will see in the 4:3 shots is that the blacked out area around the screen will be circular instead of oval.
Actually, now that I say that, it would be nice to have the from the same spot so we could see if the oval reveals more than the circle, or if it just zooms in more. My money is on reveal more. It will grant a favorable advantage either way.

I ask for a revision of this review, since the widescreen support has been greatly improved in the latest patch (1.08).
Scopes (both normal rifles, sniper rifles and tanks) have been adjusted to be perfectly round. Cutscenes are also aspect correct.
The images are 16:10, 1680x1050 downsized to 960x600. This image shows a sniper scope.
This image shows the sights of the M1A1 gunner position and parts of the aspect correct tank HUD.
And finally, a shot taken from the first cutscene. As you can see, the fake 4:3 TV set is not stretched; instead, we see more of the actual TV itself.
This should make the game fully certified, right?

If you can submit *comparison* screenshots for all of the above things (one at 4:3 and one at widescreen), and they demonstrate what you say they do, then ArmA v1.08 will get its certification.

I took them on Sunday but haven't converted them to .jpg/hosted them online yet. Wasn't happy that people were moving in my scope's view, was going to retake those when I had a chance.
Edit: Was just going through my bookmarks and noticed that a game I play perfectly in widescreen 6 hours a week still wasn't certified. If someone wants to do these before I get around to it in a couple of days, please do.

The scopes look a bit stretched. But I suspect that it's actually the 5:4 being squashed from 4:3, and the 16:10 is correct. Can you show comparison shots of the scopes at 4:3 (not 1280x1024 5:4) and 16:10? If you do this and there is no stretching, the game will be certified.
