Hi

I've just got the widescreen mod (sh3fov.zip) up and running for Silent Hill 3. It's brilliant! Is it possible to modify this mod to do the same for Silent Hill 2?

What about Silent Hill 1?

Being a PS1 game, a widescreen patch is unlikely.

That games weird ne ways. I watched the movie so I dont feel like playing it. It runs like 10x faster than it should which makes it impossible for me to play.

You have to enable the frame limiter in the emulator to keep it from going over 60fps. The first one is the best in the series, though they are all great games.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Right up front I'd like to say thank you to all involved with WSGF for providing such a valuable resource: it's because of you that I've been able to replay most of my favourite games in a glorious widescreen resolution, and these forums will continue to be my first stop for future games.

Now, to business. I've recently purchased Silent Hill 2, and no amount of Googling can turn up a widescreen modification. The link posted by squ1zzy has been removed, and the files on the site posted by Paddy the Wak are only suited to Silent Hill 3. Is there anything out there, be it an .ini modification or a full-blown res hack utility, for Silent Hill 2?

Was there some problem with it? I was just getting around to playing though SH2 again and really looking foward to doing it in widescreen.

I don't think so ... squ1zzy removed all his patches when he left ... I do not know why he left.

I can understand wanting to stop ...
but why remove all those awesome patches?

If they're not uplaoded else wehre for everyoen to enjoy, the he's a schmuck.

Luckily all the ones i'd really need i've already back up..

Does anyone have the SH2 patch? I would wonderful if someone could upload a copy of it.

Hi all, I'm new on this forum, this is my first post. I use my vacation time to install somes games on MythTV (linux PVR) with wine. Silent Hill 2 works fine under wine, but, like you, I was having a problem about the 16 / 9 patch. So i wrote a mail to Squ1zZy.

Believe me, he's a real nice guy. He send me this patch (I've not tested yet, just received some minutes ago) and let me share it.

Unfortunately link posted by small_frenchy doesn't seem to work. Those willing to settle for windowed mode of SH 2 can use DXWND - MS.

Hey guys, been lurking WSGF since I went 16:10 a few months back, don't remember how I came across it, but I found the SH2 respatcher on a website. I've uploaded it to a free space site, which will of course have ads all over, but the download link appears near the bottom:
