so yesterday i bought a sweet acer 22" widescreen monitor and now bf 2142 dose not want to run. it gets as far as turning the screen black and going right back to the desktop. i don't know what to do i have tried every fix i could find and nothing :(
here is my rig:
AMD Opteron 165
2x 7900 GS in SLI 92.91 drivers
1 GB pc-3200 ram
dfi lan party sli-DR
everything is water cooled

things i have tried:
turning sli off
changing the way sli works
changing res
reinstalling the game
edit the cmd line to add the +szx +szy things
edit the video.con file in the 00001 and default files even tried deleting them.

i dont know what to do and have gotten upset enough to send ea a Very angry e-mail which i have no response from yet.

any help if greatly appreciated.

i am going to try switching from the DVI cable to the VGA and see if that works.

I saw the link and instructions and noted that it was BF2. I assume it looks all the same for 2142?

Just making sure. I have a Scepter 22 coming tomorrow and wanted to find fixes for all of the games I play now.

... I would think so but I have never tried 2142 ... it seems to have worked for knightwolf

I tried the bf1942 fix and it seems to work although there is some cut off the bottom for sure. I am going from a 18 viewable to 22 so I do not have an eye for what might actually be happening.
Either way it is playable and much better

There is a bit cut off the top too.

BF2 and BF2142 are using the same engine so...

for me dosent work :(
