Is it possible to enable the crossfire option without using the Catalyst Control drivers??

I tried a couple of different driver sets like NGO en Omega but can't find the crossfire option.
If all the modified drivers are related to the original drivers, crossfire should be supported, but it is not. why?

Some communication "switch" to enable the co-op is probably not coded in??

I believe it's the Catalyst Control Centre which controls the cards cross-talk.

Seem to remember something about Crossfire requiring CCC...

Isn't there a box to check to enable it in the CCC??
& the Scissor & other mode(s)?? or is that SLI??
