MOHAA - Can't get it in WS??

Hi All,
I'm modifying the "unnamedsoldier.cfg" file which as far as I can see is the only cfg file in the game directory apart from "config.csv".

Neither of them contain the usual quake engine settings?

In the first .cfg file I have these:

And when I add the custom height, width, fov extra and run the game, it just overwrites the file with a standard one again?

I haven't really done much of this game hacking stuff, so i'd appreciate any help!

i haven't tried making the file read only, will try it later.

I've looked through the guide, very good, except i don't have newconfig.cfg :cry:

yep.

I checked the usual places first (my documents etc)

There are config files for MOHPA in there, but not MOHAA.

I did a full scan for *.cfg files and only the unnamedsoldier.cfg and some gamespy arcade stuff came up for MOHAA

In the "main" directory, there is a config.csv file which does contain a load of info about various system specs (old school P2/P3 specs) and there is a heading for "r_mode".

do i need to enter my own system specs and change the r_mode to "-1" in that csv file?

I don't know ... I have not come across a csv file before ... :?

It's really odd though that we both are in the UK and you are not getting the cfg files that I get ... :| ...

I'll re install it and see what I get ... back soon ... 8)

I bought a copy of the game off ebay, so i'm not sure how old it is.

Well ...
I get a "unnamedsoldier.cfg" ... but ... it is different to when I had it installed before ... back in Jun 03, 2004 ... and here is my posts on the Matrox forum with my old cfg file ... http://forum.matrox.com/mga/viewtopic.php?t=10706&highlight=moh

I get a similar cfg to you ... :?

If I change the seta r_mode "9" to -1 and add the other res lines ... as you say it just over writes them ... :?

If I make the file read only I get the game in the top portion of my screen but there is a gap at the bottom ... :?

This is all very strange ... :?

I tried installing the patch here ... http://www.3dgamers.com/games/medalofhonor/downloads/

and ... this allowed me to get the widescreen res and enter the FOV using the console ... :D :D :D

Here are the things I needed to have in my to my unnamedsoldier.cfg ...

seta r_customheight "1200"
seta r_customwidth "1920"
seta r_mode "-1"
seta developer "1"
seta ui_console "1"

Then once the game has started just bring down the console and type in ... fov 100

I got there in the end ... hope you do too ... let me know how you get on ... 8)

What editor did you use for the unnamedsoldier.cfg file?

I've installed the patch, opened the .cfg in notepad, entered the stuff you've put up there (all on the one line with no spaces as the cfg file is already)

Opened the game again, res looked the same, so I quit and the cfg file has gone back to normal again?

Also... I presume to bring the console down in game, you use the `¬ key next to the 1 on the keyboard? That didn't work either cos the cfg file was overwritten... This is annoying me now!

Supposed to be playing some LAN games this week but gonna be stuck with crappy 4:3 res at this rate!

If it doesn't list it in notepad or wordpad ... copy it out to something else like an email ... it should then be in a list as above ... just to edit it then copy and paste it back in to the word pad or note pad cfg file.

Working fine now that i edited it in wordpad. When I used notepad or excel it didn't work properly.

p.s. Maybe there should be an official solution written which includes updating to the patched version? And only using wordpad?
