It's stretched. Whoever your character is in this game, in the second screenshot, he's significantly fatter than in the first... :(
1280x720?

I tried this already, however 1280x720 doesn't seem to work. I play in 1280x1024 but 1280x720 looks better on my Samsung DLP being that it is its native resolution. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If you run the game at native resolutions - can the Samsung settings give you an acceptable visual solution?

This is widescreen on the consoles(xbox & xbox 360 at least), so it makes no sense that it wouldn't be on PC

I get a pixel perfect picture when I play PC games via the DVI port at its native resolution of 1280x720. I have to play to this game (GUN) at 1280x1024. It looks decent, but not as good as the 1280x720. Some games will automatically support 1280x720 out of the box, while others let you play using custom resolutions by either editing an .cfg / .ini file, or editing the registry. This game like Activision's other PC title "True Crime" doesn't seem to do either.

Has anyone else tried the game on 1680x1050? Is it bothersome playing with it stretched?

I am playing it right now in 1680x1050 and the game is very nice. I don't really mind the little extra meat on the characters :P

Wow, I'd play pillarboxed before I ever play a game stretched that much. I'm crossing my fingers for a patch at this point or maybe I'll get it for the 360.

The file pack to download for the Widescreen fix comes with a nice Trojan virus. Anyone else seeing this with their virus scanners?

The download is safe, but it crashes the game for me on launch.
