Allow me add a couple of relatively fresh titles to the list:

Domination (Wargaming.net/Dreamcatcher), aka Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance in certain regions:

After installation, it automatically cranked up the resolution of 1920x1200 on my 23" display, without stretching or crazy FOV. Runs as smooth as silk on my Athlon XP 2500+/1 Gb/Radeon 9800XT.

Obscure (Hydravision/MC2-Microids):
Allows to select a desired resolution (provided it is available in your driver settings) through its setup utility. Runs wonderfully w/o stretching or other weirdness.

Nomad, can you create a seperate thread for those titles that need some sort of editing? (So for example: "Solution: Star Wolves" and "Solution: Darwinia", explaining what needs to be done? Or I can, if you don't want to. :)

OK, I've moved the individual solutions into their respective topics. The two remaining games allow to select widescreen resolutions via the options menu.
