Empire Earth 2

Post by redneonrt »

So Ive been lurking around here for sometime now and so far I've always been able to find the answers Im looking for.

But Ive come across a new game i was hopeing to play in widescreen. Im having a little trouble with the .cfg file so I've attached it so maybe someone else on here can shed some light on what I might have to change in it.

right click and save as

there is 2 lines in this file that caught my eye:

// s_screenWidth - screen width in pixels (800, 1024, 1600)
// s_screenHeight - screen height in pixels (600, 768, 1200)

Ive tried changing these to 1650*1050 but that doesnt seem to work, so any ideas you have would be great.

I think when the game ships on Monday, you may get more help. :)

well see if you can find a solution. for some reason my res is maxxed in the game at 1280x1024. maybe they do it on purpose to keep ppl from having a bigger view in multiplayer (but if thats the case they should not constrain the single player res).

the game really looks horrible in its current resolution on a widescreen monitor. not to mention the mouse problems it has.

I've done some poking around, and found the file where the res settings are kept, but it doesn't look like editing the file is really gonna help. Here's the file:

C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataSierraEmpire Earth IIsettingssettings.cfg

Here's the line from my settings.cfg:

displayMode = Res1280x1024x32

I edited the line to my res on the off chance it might work, but it defaulted back to 800x600.

i found the same thing and tried changing it to 1680x1050, it didnt work just defaulted back to 800x600 as well. then I tried making the file read only and that didnt work either.

In case you're watching this thread...

Arcus has updated the UniWS Patcher to provide widescreen support for EE2. See his post here for details:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/5689

The UniWS Patcher is available in the downloads section.

I'm new to this, so i may have done something incorrectly, but the widescreen crack/hack only stretches the picture, is there any way to get it to actually view more of the playing field?
