I've already tried setting the resolution in the splintercell3.ini, but after I set it the game will not run fullscreen. The startfullscreen option is set to true, and alt + enter doesn't work.
Anyone else have any luck?

Yeah ... I got it to work ... :)
Here is what I did ... don't know if all of it needs changing but mine works ...

In the SplinterCell3.ini
Under the heading ...[WinDrv.WindowsClient] ... I changed ...
FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1200
and under the heading ... [LauncherResolutions] ... I changed ...
res5=1920x1200

Then I also changed the resolution and the FOV settings in the SplinterCell3User.ini
Under the heading ... [Engine.EPCGameOptions]
Resolution=1920x1200
and under the heading ... [Engine.PlayerController]
DesiredFOV=100.0
DefaultFOV=100.0

That screenshot looks great but I still cannot get it to run full screen. Only in a window.

I don't know what to suggest ... may be you inadvertently altered something.
Have you tried re-installing ?

I could post my ini file content so that you could copy and past into yours if you like ...

I got it to work with your instructions. I just can't run it in 1200x768 (which is what I was trying to do). I can only run it at 1680x1050.

i guess it's 1280x768, but can you get this res under windows ?

No I really mean 1200x768. You can set a custom resolution in the nVidia drivers. Works great for all my other widescreen gaming needs. :D
