Skyrim Multi-Monitor User Interface Fix Discussion
@cp_clegg I have it working fine with bezel correction. Edit the NEW.CT file in notepad and change the triple monitor rez's to your total rez (default is 5040), then divide by 3 and use that to change the single monitor rez (default is 1680). Do a "replace all" with each of those values. I had to tweak the single monitor number a little bit further, which I did by shooting arrows into a wall and changing the resolution until they aligned with my reticle.
@Helifax, I'm not sure if this has already been discussed, but the "-" view setting for two-paged books works for me. However, single pages (notes, bounties, etc.) have about 40% of the text spilling off the left side of the paper and not shown. This happens with any Dark Brotherhood assassin's note, for example.
hey ported, it works and makes the bezel rez ok, but reading books is messed up and the map i still screwy. When i go to read a book it zooms WAY up to far and on is slightly visible on the left screen and i can only read a few words. i think changing all of the 5670 or whatever numbers in the file is not correct. Can someone make me one thats for a bezel corrected rez of 5930*1080?

Here is a complete package of the standard multi-monitor resolutions. I have only edited helifaxs original file resolutions to make them, no other changes were made. I did this so he could get a well deserved rest, enjoy the fruits of his long labor and to play Skyrim. I did this also for those having issues modifying this, I did as well initially. I have also included a detailed read me on how to properly run this fix, there are NO custom resolutions only standard multi-monitor resolutions.
Files in this package are: !Read ME!.txt, 5760.ct, 5040.ct, 4800.ct, 4320.ct, 4098.ct, 4080.ct, 3840.ct, 3072.ct and 2400.ct.

Hey sorry to hear its not working for you. I had to fiddle a lot to find a combination that worked for me. If the CAP4 was installed, it would not work.
I hear tell that a real CAP for skyrim is coming soon...

STILL NEED HELP THXS GUYS
Hey guys ! BIG ISSUE ... I am running Duel 6990s 4 gigs .. 11.11 up date , just got skyrim today .. but when i change the SKYRIMPREFS.ini file and change the values to 5900 x 1080 or 5760 x 1080 ..
it loads up And then runs at like 1 FPS !!! i disabled one of the 6990s and it still did it ...
I tryed the Skyrim ultra Wide FIX program in your guys link and its not working correctly... I change it to 1920 then Execute .. and start the game but only my center monitor starts up and the other two side monitors go black!
can someone help me figure this out
my pc specs :
duel: Quad core 1100 T x 6
duel :6990s 4 gig
16 gig ram
1, 500 gig Hd
9, 1.5 Tb drives
Server mother board.
Anyway
Please help me figure this out ! thanks you guys are the best !
Jayson
The answer is not what you want to hear. AMD has yet to release any multi-GPU drivers/profiles for Skyrim yet which means ANY multi-GPU solution will have issues. Even just one 6990 may act up since it is multi-GPU and Skyrim currently hates multi-GPU. We're all waiting for 11.11 CAP2 (I use CrossFire 6950, but am currently only using one).
I did not have much like with the DLL fix, but here is something to try:
In this forum, in the very first post, there is a link to a DLL file that you can drop inside of the skyrim folder (same folder as the TESV.exe) and it may help. Like I said, it didn't help my CrossFire much, but it is worth a try. There may also be another fix in that post you can try. However, his first post does state this:
FAQ
Q. "I have a 6990, or two 6990's, why is my scaling SO BAD?!"
A. Simply put, I don't know. This is something on ATI's side.
Honestly, I think until AMD puts out another driver or CAP release, you're screwed :(

This sounds like you haven't setup SkyrimPrefs.ini for you multi-monitor configuration. Go to C:Users(Username)Saved GamesSkyrim. First back up SkyrimPref.ini then look for
iSize H=1080
iSize W=5760
That is what mine looks like, change it to what your resolution is, save it, close and finally run skyrim. After that you should only need to follow from step 3 in that read me. That was written in the assumption that this had been done before trying to implement the fix.

Like Kayden sayd, make sure you have the path right. There are 2 files with the same name different paths. One in the game folder under steam, the other under the path above.

Surely theres a way in above code to say something like:
If memory adress is 116E4DC then press hotkey 1? or something like that.
Because of the IF statements in the above code, i can't see why it isn't possible.
Someone with some programming knowledge help please, hehe

@Helifax, I'm not sure if this has already been discussed, but the "-" view setting for two-paged books works for me. However, single pages (notes, bounties, etc.) have about 40% of the text spilling off the left side of the paper and not shown. This happens with any Dark Brotherhood assassin's note, for example.
I have also experienced this. left 30% of text is cut off on scrolls.

ALRIGHT!
i got helifax's fix working.
I couldn't modify it throguh cheatengine, but i figured it out via a text editor.
SO!
My config is for 5760x1200, and the 3 keys are -, + and backspace on the standard keyboard, since I don't have a numpad
if you need to modify it for your resolution, just open it with any text editor and replace all instances of "5760" with your horizontal and all instances of "1200" with your vertical!
here's my version:
http://pastebin.com/iJFUptNF
save it as anything.CT (not anything.CT.txt !)
jsut have the latest cheat engine installed and run it!
thanks again helifax, but fuck cheat engine! (Ollydbg is much more reliable for me, but harder to use)
Yes Cheat Engine is a PAIN IN THE AS* to modify an existing Cheat Table...Somehow it mixes up the changes and can corrupt your table.... I will update the "how-to change your resolution" in the Detailed Report...

I haven't actually looked into scrolls:( But I will this evening...
As for the IF STATEMENT part...well is very hard to implement it in assembly especially when you don't have the source code of the game...,. I believe many thing are "returned" when opening a book or a scroll. All I do is manipulating the rendering offset...which breaks the damn hud as you can see it squished to the left...when reading a book.
For scrolls it looks like they are using a different rendering offset...
I will look into it this evening and will try to find a common ground for both books and scrolls:)

I tested the solution from Halifax and Heyden for Skyrim UI with my setting of 6 screens and it works almost perfectly. Only troubles is with the books. It seems the Numpad- key squeeze the menu but not the book display. I use the 5760.CT provided to make all this work and the map works fine. There is another small problem with the dialog selection where they are cut down a little before the end of the line but all in all I can live with that. The books issue is more problematic though. Notably for new recipes, I can't read them at all...
Anyway, thanks for these tweaks and your hard work :)

This has been confirmed as being a problem with AMD drivers. If you go back a few pages there is all ready a solution posted, go from pg 72 on up, not sure exactly where. This fix has also been said not to work for some WSGF members, so it's hit or miss. Here is where I found out about this being a AMD driver problem:
Also if your running AA try disabling it. I have SLI going and even with the performance advantage it has over AMD, 8xAA will make my fps drop to teens at best, but when I run 4xAA I manage to run at 45+ fps. This also could be a driver issue with Nvidia or engine, but I'll speculate it's a problem with drivers since it is so drastic.

I have tried every fix regarding crossfire performance on the web. All recent versions of ccc drivers 11.9, 11.10, 11.11, associated caps, the "shady" driver, the .dll fix, multiple settings in ccc, RadeonPro profiles, and others.. Being very careful to fully clean and use driver sweeper between tests...
I can get crossfire to "work" with a single 1920x1080. The best the fixes provide is to eliminate a hang in the load screen and get around the Ctrl-Alt-Del trick that you have to employ when framerate unexpectedly drops upon changing locale. The problem is that scaling is still very poor. RadeonPro shows both GPUS averaging 50%, sometime a bit higher. In game framerate on ultra ends up being the same as with single card, so its not worth going through all the fixes, just to eliminate the C-A-D fix. Performance sux. And of course, CF eyefinity is completely borked, thats when you get the 1FPS issue.
I am currently running memory tests on both my cards to rule out hardware issues.
Some people report they get CF to work, try this fix or that, but I dont think they realize they are getting such poor scaling with CF.
Only thing to do now is WAIT for AMD to respond with drivers. The community here has done such an amazing job fixing the game itself to work in eyefinity, now just waiting for AMD to fix the drivers so I can get great details and framerate!
I am not aware of anyone stating that they are successfully running crossfire + eyefinity.
