Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, FoV Fix and Rally for multi screen support
OK! I can say I managed to pin point all the problems. I hope I managed to make it in a reasonable time ;))
Fixed in this release - Fov for gameplay (both normal and the zoom one)
- Fov for all rendered cutscenes (bottom excessive black bar still is there except for conversations)
- Item scale in inventory (like character size)
Not fixed - Menus (Only Quests Menu proves to be broken)
- obvious black bar thingy in cutscenes.
- FMVs still are zoomed and Vert -
- Improve the 3D Vision Ready-ness of the game;))
Recommended options & How To:
- Download this little file and put it in the "Plugins" folder of WideScreen Fixer: https://www.widescreenfixer.org/
- Start Widescreen Fixer, select the game and press the little COG (gear icon)
- Set your FOV and resolution (with bezel correction if you have)
- Press Save Settings and close the Window
- Start the GAME
- When you reach the Main Menu press the toggle to activate the fix (it will not work properly if you are in-game or it will behave erratically)
- Play the game and Enjoy a 90% Eyefinity/Surround Ready Game :)) !!
- As Quest menu is not working I highly recommend to use a WIDTH resolution LOWER than 4096 Then the QUEST Menu will be there. I didn't had the time to also fix this but at least I discovered (2 mins) ago where the problem lies. I will update it in the coming days.
- If the fov doesn't suit you: disable the fix, set your new fov in WSF, go back to game, enable the fix and press the ZOOM in button so the new fov is taken into consideration (On xbox controller is pressing the right analog handle / don't know for mouse).
- If the fix doesn't work from the 1st try restart the game and WideScreen Fixer and setup your configuration again - I tested it only on 3x1L but I believe it will also work on 3x1P with a lower Fov setting.
Enjoy!! (and if you feel generous the link is down there :)))))))) )
Best Regards,
Helifax
EDIT: DISABLE STEAM UPDATES! A new version has just been pushed and breaks the fix!! ;)) Will update it in the following days

Pretty much deal breaker. It should not be up to the community to support what should be in game on release.
Not meant to belittle their amazing work, it is quite simply top notch and truely appreciated by everyone here.
But so called "All star teams" should be able to handle such matters. Hell I play Vanguard, which runs on old unreal 2.0 and it does eyefinity very well, surely the next greatest game can too?

I normally turn these off for games that need fixes, but sure enough I forgot and steam updated it just as I was downloading your fix :P

So nobody was able to test it?:)
- If you want to revert go to -> Steam/steamapps/common/koreckoning (or something like this)
- Right click the folder-> Properties-> Previous version-> and select a folder prior to the update:) Revert to that (it is always possible to update the game back so..)
- Give it a try:))
As for the patch.. I think is pretty useless... I will update the fix when I have some time;))

Did you configure the plugin before trying the fix? are you using the original release version (1.0.0) ? Last night they released a patch that broke the fix. I will update the fix for the new version. But if you want to check the fix be sure that you are not using the updated version of the game.
If it still crashes..than there is a difference in the games exe between Steam and Origin, so I cant really help you there:(
Yea it looks like Origins

Yea it looks like Origins updated too. I couldn't see where the version number was, but after I tried running the fix again, the solutions window showed the version as 1.0.0.1 or something like that.

Hey helifax, got in late last night thanks for working on this, I tried the Origin version your plugin found the game etc if I alt tabed out of the game but the actually fix locks up the Origin version without the patch.
I may get the Steam version as well today after work unless you can figure something out.
Does the Origin version

Does the Origin version forces you to play through Origin? (Origin is not started and you double click the game exe) What happens? Does Origin Starts up like in case of Steam Version?

Hi Helifax
The retail version does force you to use Origin. Even if Origin is not running, when you click on the exe it opens and connects to origin before loading up the game. I just tried inputing the game code from the retail version into Steam to see if i could add the game to Steam but invalid code.

Yeah, Origin works like steam while gaming, everything goes through it first.
I did a second install and used an exe file of "not known origin" :P And this is what i got --->
The one with the red line is the quest log obviously :)
Awesome work till now Helifax !! Game seems to be completely playable currently with this (except the q.log)
Fov i used on those was 120 which i might increase later on, just tried it out to see and to tell u how it works currently on my behalf :)

AWESOME FIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KNOW everyone knows how they can play their game on Origin, since I dont have also the Origin version to make the fix for it
As for the quest log, I will look into it;)) Did you try my workaround? to lower your resolution to something like 3840x720 (so it width does not exceed 4096)?
Best Regards,
Helifax

Hey guys! Newbie here. Any idea on an updated KoA plugin? ;)
I just saw a guy who posted a delicious screenshot of him playing in 80-degree FoV and I'm really jealous but it doesn't work with the new patch from last night. =

Now instead of ctd, it freezes as soon as I turn the fix on. So does that mean there is a difference between the Steam and Origin versions? Don't know if it helps but in the details part of the check for a solution screen now says the version is 1.0.0.2.

Steam version Only!!! - Origin is not supported (nor I can add support for it I don't have that version)
File version is indeed 1.0.0.2 But product version is 1.0.0.1
I did saw a post earlier saying that! the fix works with "un-official" executables;)) I don't officially support those but I do imagine it will work with them if they are from Steam version;))
Best Regards
I guess I'm out of luck then.
