[quote]The patch allows for Eyefinity and surround resolutions and the FOV set by defualt was good enough for me. This game is excellent in surround. Although, it does require a ton of juice to run it. I am running an older Nvidia driver for my 3D surround, but I'm only getting 45-55 fps at 5760x1080.

Yeah, I'm getting the same FPS at that res with my 3 gtx480's. But with GPU usage at only 60% on them.

I think it's maybe drivers? I mean if I enable the 2x or 4x AA, my FPS tanks to the 20's, but GPU usage stays at 60%, and VRAM is still not full at any point either... so it seems the drivers or game aren't really optimised for scaling with multi GPU very much.

My GPUs are also running around 60%, played around with some settings, but nothing helped much.

my single 6970 does great frames 5760x1080 2x aa. 95-100% usage

either it favors amd or single gpu is needed thats why i use amd. I will never go back to bullshit of sli/crossfire 580x2=$1000 worth of stutters. Single gpu smooth as silk

I'm not a amd fanboy. I know nvidia is faster but untill they make a single gpu that can handle 5760x1080 I am stuck with amd

I am very satisfied with the FOV at 5670 x 1200. Looks like the devs adjusted it nicely to compensate. The game looks great.

I get about 60 FPS-75 FPS in the short time I tried it last night.

My GPU useage in Triple Crossfire is only about 30-40% across all three GPUs though, same as it was at 1920 x 1200. I think its a driver thing.

Where is the options.config file located??? I cant find it.

If you are refering to the new patch, you load up the game from your Steam account and the game is automatically updated to the most recent version, which includes the patch.
All retail versions, mine included, are activated through Steam, and the game is then placed in your Steam game folder.

If you have an illegal copy, you will have to find a bootleg patch, too.

Patch installed, detected my bezel-corrected resolution just fine.

It won't change for me either. It's like the camera is too close and I get dizzy, I feel like the view should pull back a few inches so I'm not right on top of my gun.

It's the DoF that kills your framerates and makes the game look like shit.
I just downloaded this patch http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NEETI00U and now the game runs at 130 fps and everything looks crystal clear just like FEAR 2.

But the patch was created for F3AR v1.0 and trying to play it now results in messed up graphics,
hopefully someone can come up with the DoF removal patch compatible with 1.1 ...

That makes a HUGE difference! But the enemies have no heads lol and invisible guns

Will they make a new dof disabler for v1.1?

EDIT: Correction. It does work.

Even though the .cfg seems to suggest 85 is as high as you can go...or at least that's how I read it...I said the hell with it and put in 110 and it works and it looks a hell of a lot better. It's finally pulling that camera back.

I'm on a 16:10 monitor.

It's crazy that we even have to set it that high. I didn't even notice a difference until I set it around 150. I agree though, 200 is definitely 'just right'.

150-200 FOV on a single display?!

I'll try it for grins. 110 over the default was already a night and day improvement. At least now we can all more or less set this thing the way we want. :)

Do you have it set at 200 on EyeFinity/Surround ?

I do, it seems like for every 20-35 I set it up it only moves the camera back a little bit. This game is wierd like that for me. 200 feels like ~80-85.

Indeed.

Very small, incremental differences in relation to value change.
