I even base my game-purchasing decisions on whether the games field of view scale horizontally appropriately, now.

First of all... I'm currently using a HD 5870 with 3x1 Landscape Eyefinity.
I bought this setup because I saw it o Youtube and it simply looked awesome and I didn't know what I should upgrade next. When I got it I started playing many of my old Games, trying which of them work in Eyefinity. First, I was very fascinated and it was huge fun playing like this. Some time later I realized that about 60% of the new games released don't support Eyefinity. But I already fell in love with it while using Windows. It's just cool playing WoW ind Windowmode, reading news and watching TV at the same time. Plus, some Games work perfectly with Eyefinity (GRID, BFBC2, ...) so I play them across all screens. I wouldn't buy another setup without multiple screens just because of missing space.
Nvidia Surround sucks (imo) because of lack compability and insane prices (and 3D will suck while gaming, too).
I'm looking forward for future ATI (or AMD) GPU's with Eyefinity and hope they will stick to it and Game Dev's will make use of it, too, just because of the coolest gaming experience I ever had.

I've been an Eyefinity user since roughly April. Currently I'm sporting some Dell IPS displays rotated into 3x1 portrait. I must say I am loving Eyefinity and am planning to sell my card and buy one with more RAM in the future (5870). I've tried a lot of games and have had a great deal of experience getting games to work through various hacks. Hex editing and registry altering are very familiar to me. I'd prefer to see some more native resolution support for weird resolutions.

I've seen Eyefinity working' in a workshop this summer. It's full of possibilities while playing.
It's amazing! Now I will build a pc for gaming (my old one will retire...LOL). My last card is a HIS 4870 Turbo. It was cool, and I've never had a problem whit it. So I plan to get another HIS card...and some monitors :).

I have never tried Eyefinity, but I do find the technology interesting. For the price, however, I do find it quite a premium setup. Much too expensive to my taste. As such, I doubt I'll be trying it anytime soon.

I just love Eyefinity. I play your games much more immersively as I now have so much screen resolution to work with. Especially for flight simulators , racing games and strategy games where I like to have a big field to play in it enhances visibility, and that's just really grand. The experience of playing games, in my case with three screens is simply fantastic, the first minutes I felt a little confusion as my brain actually needs to process so much information it can hardly keep up. Once I got used to it the 'wow' factor kicks in and the experience is just lovely.

I adopted Eyefinity as soon as it was released. I purchased the 5870 days after it's launch and set out on my quest to acquire 3 24 inch widescreens and ended up with the Dell S2409W's and wow were they a great choice. The image quality is great and I am still happy with these monitors. I initially had problems with the blinking monitor issue and signal loss and finally after swapping cards and surprisingly finding a specific combination of my available monitors and cables it went away. The setup would only work with certain cables with certain monitors in certain ports on the videocard :) But despite all of this I still love the system and have shown it to anybody that I could get to look ;) I have been looking into upgrading to the a pair of 6870's in eyefinity but now I just might have to wait until this contest is over.

This card dont really have enough juice for multimon gaming but maybe with a few friends of his.

Triplescreen gaming is the bomb.

My opinion in short -------> :rockout

In long.

Having mortgaged my house for 2 Dell monitors to sit by my original dell monitor plus 3 adapters one of which broke, 1 of which didnt work and finaly a working saphire adapter i was a little worried id wasted an awesome amount of money on a gimmick. However after racing round Hot Pursuit and shooting people in Bad Company im truly amazed by the experience. Very immersive and spectacular in comparison to single screen. Well worth the money.
Happy Days. Lets hope more and more Software Houoses support it to make WSGs life a little easier :cheers

So far my widescreen experience has been limited to desktop only. I recently purchased 2 x Dell 23" IPS monitors to go with my ever-trusty 24" Dell TN (seriously 5 years on and it's STILL alive and kicking).

As mentioned previously, if both Nvidia and AMD can get rid of the SLI/monitor EDID restrictions, it'll make an already expanding phenomena more mainstream again, which can only be a good thing as more developers add enhanced support for widescreen.

Love to be picked out of the hat to experience widescreen gaming first hand = D

I have personally never experienced eyefinity/surround vision/ matrox triple header, but I am very interested in trying it out. Interested enough to visit WSGF =] There is a new game coming out named TERA which supports eyefinity and I may just have to take the plunge when it is released.
It's pricey to get 3 monitors and a shiny new video card, but if i was to win a brand new video card I would be able to afford the extra monitors.

Would love to win HIS 6870 turbo!

My experience with eyefinity is limited to vicariously watching YouTube videos of it. I've always been on a tight budget so purchasing a high-end card is never really an option for me. I am saving for a 6870 and if by luck I win this contest then hurrah, get one early! ;)

I think it's not ready for mainstream yet, there are some kinks that need working out. I personally couldn't justify the expense yet.

However, the tech itself is important, and it's a good thing there are finally major players behind it.

What Eyefinity has done for me is open me up to the world of triple monitor computing. While playing games with an increased FOV is fantastic and I just can't go back, the possibilities it has also opened up for general desktop use makes it a winner hands down. Full kudos for AMD/ATi for pushing the boundaries and being the first to offer such a great feature. Was definately the reason why I moved across from having a series of Nvidia cards over the years and jumped on the Radeon bandwagon. Great stuff!

A year ago I would of agreed with you, but having experienced it right from the beginning, it's come a LONG way. The main stumbling block was the DisplayPort requirement and the issues with many of the active adaptors. This has largely been addressed with the introduction of newer generation active displayport to dvi adaptors which from all reports (including myself) has solved the issues.

It's not for everyone, but with LCD manufacturers like Samsung jumping on board with ready made Eyefinity screen setups, the future is looking great.

I have not owned an Eyefinity setup yet, but from what I have seen in stores, it's pretty cool.

When I accumulate enough cash, I might consider investing in one or two 6870s and two more 20WGX2 screens to back up the old one I own :D

Until now I have played only a handful of games using Eyefinity technology and have to admit that although it's still a developing trend it has a huge potential.

The main issues are monitors' bezel sizes - it has a chance of becoming a mainstream product (like 3D LCD TV's this season) if (when) monitor producers deal with this problem and we'll see a real explosion of affordable Eyefinity-dedicated displays.

Eyefinity gives an advantage of wider field of view and allows players to spot enemies in FPP shooters otherwise placed outside the screen. In racing games it delivers more immersive experience by showing the side mirrors and the side of the road bringing car simulators to a higher level.

In connection with 3D technology Eyefinity allows gamers to squeeze all the possible awesomeness from their GPU's and gives hardware junkies like us a reason to upgrade ;)

On the whole, my Eyefinity experience has been positive. Many games work with Eyefinity with a minimal amount of tinkering. The added feeling of immersion was well worth the cost of buying 2 additional 24" monitors to match the 24" I already had. With the release of nvidia's surround technology to match AMD's offereing, new games will hopefully have official support for multimonitor gaming and maybe the ability to change FOV and center HUD elements and menus without the need for 3rd party tweaks and hacks/
