Dave... Eyefinity6
Re: Dave... Eyefinity6
Much respect for being the first 5x1+1 setup I've seen, before the card is even released.

Not at all, they are 4 x u2410's and on the far right a 2405. I stripped them down which removed about 1/2" on each monitor
I'm trying to come up with a solution to make one continious bezel for all 5 displays.

Re: Dave... Eyefinity6
Well thank you for a fast answer :) Yeah thinking of getting 3x of those and then later 2x they are rather expensive here to justify the price difference from the 22 inch ones :/ but they don't have dp connection if they did I would buy 5x 22 inch in a heartbeat. atm u2410 cost about 2x 2209WA :/
Re: Dave... Eyefinity6
I finally got all my screens and patiently waiting for this card!!! :cheers
Nice setup! I plan to do something similar. I hope you post some performance results when Eyefinity6 come out :).
BTW: Is it custom stand for those 5 LCDs?

Okay, now that we have an ETA, what about price? What's in the Box?

Let me just say that I hate it when other sites break NDA, or get news leaked from someone who broke NDA. Makes it look like the WSGF isn't getting the information that is out there, when in reality we are honoring the NDA and relationship with ATI...

A private secrecy contract is not a resilient security situation (hence the leaks), but it isn't without checks & balances. Those other sites that actually leaked are either getting shut out of preview knowledge next time, or they are not going to be identified - and thus, they get no credit for having the info.
You can either be a review site that gets actual review copies and does hands-on journalism while also transcribing press releases, or a rumor site that aggregates various cloak-and-dagger sources to build a picture of the future for the reader, but is mostly reliant on other people's research if they have a question and may be easily manipulated. Both are useful.
As long as you don't exercise editorial control to try and hush up the rest of us talking about rumors, we understand your inability to talk about them yourself.

Ok, that setup is all kinds of awesome. Congrats on being one of the first to be ready for 5x1. I'm still a 245BW short from doing that myself. :cheers

You're doing the right thing though. Those that break NDA end up totally screwing up a good situation. You burn too many bridges and noone will talk to you. The reason why I've always frequented here is that the reputation of this site has always been first rate and tends to nail down the most accurate information in a detailed manner. That is way more valuable than tech rumor tabloids that have no ethics when it comes to NDAs.

Re: Dave... Eyefinity6
Thanks, I'm planning on getting two of the eyefinity cards and maybe using my 5870 (3output) card as well. I'm not sure how 2x 5870*6 with the 5870 will work with the Memory being different and all. I'm guessing it will still struggle with games using 6000x1900. The wait is killing me. With this setup sitting about 2-3ft away I can't see anything but LCD's!!! Can't wait to game on it!!!

getting a 1GB card with 2GB cards is bad, you'll be limited to 1GB per GPU. You'll be better in getting the ASUS 2GB 5870 card.

I'm planning around $450. Another question is will the 5870 water-blocks fit on the eyefinity card?

the PCB is pretty much the same, so i think it will (only one GPU).

Re: Dave... Eyefinity6
Still going to stick with just 3 monitors, not going to be jumping to 4 or 5 anywhere in the near future.
On another note, I expect to see sites start the pre-order for this pretty soon, what do ya think?

Professional... well I'll figure that out.

With me already having 4x 245BW, I really want to try this out too. The 245BW can be had pretty cheap refurb nowadays with it being EOL for about a year now.
