Sorry Aussie I should have put a link here to the moved post/thread.

(Just out of curiosity ... did you get an email after I posted in the moved thread ?)

Nah no email, I just searched my recent posts and it showed up that way.

Wasn't sure if I had linked too many pics or something but no drama! :cheers

Booted it up for a couple hours today. I do wish they had spent the time to make proper Hor+ cutscenes as it does get a tad distracting to have it jump back and forth so often from 3 screens to 1 to 3 to 1, but the overall experience is fantastic. So far I haven't had any DRM issues, but I have a pretty reliable internet connection. Let's pray I don't see too many DRM issues in the future. Definitely worth the purchase so far though.

Yes, I talked about the cutscenes in the Multi-Monitor GamingSurround and Eyefinity MediaAssassins Creed 2 thread and demonstrated it in the video I put together. It's distracting and you lose the immersion in the game for sure.

I just finished the game in eyefinity, and it was amazing. I purposely didn't read too much about the actual game (DRM aside), and was pleasantly surprised with the new additions.

The DRM affected me for about 2 hours one day when my ISP cut out due to a storm...

Yea, the cutscenes are still 16:9, but it really allowed me to put things in perspective with 16:9 vs. 48:9... just wasn't even close. The side screens fading in was kind of grandiose and made me smile thinking "poor 16:9 folks".

Eyefinity is simply fantastic, no doubt about it.

I am pleased to report that Assassin's Creed II works 5040x1050 with SoftTH.

I just upgraded to a nVidia GTX 470 + existing 8800 GT and had to make one ini edit and then the game worked flawlessly.

It is cool when the videos end and the left and right screen kick in, reminds me why I rarely play any games that only work single wide.

For SoftTH users:

Edit the file:

%USERPROFILE%Application DataUbisoftAssassin's Creed 2Assassin2.ini

DisplayWidth=5040
DisplayHeight=1050
RefreshRate=75

Nice, glass-half-full sorta person.

I, on the other hand, complained that the two outside screens turned off at all and destroy the immersion (although you do get used to it after a while, it's still noticeable). Especially when it is not consistent and they are rendered scenes like all the rest.

Good heads-up for the SoftTH guys.

:cheers

Heh! Using a free "quirky" solution like SoftTH, I am HAPPY any time I get a game to work triple wide.

For example, with Aliens vs Predator (2010), game launches with bink videos on center screen, menus run on right screen (have to use cursors to select), and then I waited...waited...and game runs triple wide with perfect FOV...sweet! Played first missions and blasting aliens in the disco reminded me of Duke Nukem 3D, run backwards firing like crazy and watch the aliens running on the ceiling, then the walls, then the floor...great fun!

Hi guys, does anyone else having problem with AC2 and Eyefinity? Here patch 1.01 installed, it auto recognize my 5284x1050 (bezel managed Catalys 10.4) resolution, but the game just apear in the center screen, if I try 5040x1050 resolution it goes just like an inch on each side monitor, not bezel managed and still not using all the side monitors.

How much of the game have you played? Some of it is still only on the center monitor (menus and cutscenes), but once you actually get into the game it should fade in the side monitors.

Yeah, as suggested, run the game for a bit until where you have control of your character properly and it should open up to full-screen.

I've played the first part, the first 3 "missions", and stopped because of the lack of eyefinity :| . The fight at start, the "go to the medic" and "get before than your brother to the top of the church" This is already in florenza. And at no moment the 3 monitors were working, however if I change from 5284x1050 (bezel managed) to 5040x1050 a small part of each side monitor start working like an inch of each. Looking like 1920 x1080 on a 1680x1050 monitor (the remaining horizontal pixels on the side monitors, remembering that there's no bezel management running).
You guys that have it proper working at each point is the first time the three monitors kick in?

Hmmm, that does seem odd. The outside screens fade in and out when you get control of the character.

Check out the youtube video I made for it, it shows how it should look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTZi5CAoJ3Q

Sounds like this isn't happening for you, which doesn't seem right.

Thinking about what it might be not working for you...

For me it just doesn't activate the side monitors. Were you running on a single GPU card/config? May it be a 5970 issue? I've played so far WoW, BC2, DAO, JC2, NFSS without a single issue.

The fact that you can see a sliver on the side monitors at 5040x1050 is a characteristic of the letterbox rendering - it'll render at 16:9 and simply black border the top / bottom if the aspect isn't 16:9 (in this case you're at 48:10 and the giant blackness on your side monitors is the 'black border') - which of course gets augmented a little if you run with bezel comp.

Now, this rendering decision was present in AC1 and also pre-release AC2... IIRC, they patched AC2 before the US release to support eyefinity - I don't know how this corresponded to the international release since it was slightly earlier than the US one.

Make sure you have this patch if for whatever reason you're not fully patched...

The eyefinity patch was available on release day here in europe. Got it, installed it, and the loader downloaded the Eyefinity patch.

I just checked the graphics options and mine just says 5300x1050, 60Hz, with no mention of any screen ratios.

Not sure what to suggest from here other than cycling from Eyefinity to single screen and back again, or re-installing the game. :|

Hi,

I'm a 30 years old french player (sorry for my poor english) and I've troubles with AC2 in dual monitor mode (2 x 1680 x 1050)
In the game (and not ony in the menus), it displays a single image (1680x1050 sized) in the center of my two monitors with black background on the left and on the right.
I've played others games which work perfectly with dual monitor mode (Mafia II, Burnout Paradise, Avatar, GTA IV, DiRT 2)
For information, my graphic card is a MSI Radeon HD5870.

Thank you for your help !
