That worked , I edited my post.
Btw , for everyone else , make shortcut of prototypef.exe to desktop , and at the end of target add windowed , no " or - , just windowed.
In the same window select run:maximized.

Now you can select any resolution , but windows mouse is visible in game as well , anyone knows how to remove it?

What comparison screens?
Game allows me to choose only beetween 640x480 and 1280x800.
You want that?

Its possible to get to higher resolution but even then there are some issues aka windows pointer visible in the game.

try HEX editing the max resolution you can choose, theyre all in a row starting from that offset, just add 8 bytes till you find your max /default res, or even edit all of them!

Code: Select all

   00000000 80 02 00 00 E0 01 00 00 ........
   00000008 20 03 00 00 E0 01 00 00  .......

For a 19" widescreen thats 1440x900 , and my native resoltuion as well.
Already told you , when I use hexedit it reverts to 1280x800 and i lose the resolution i edited.

try that and maybe the edit button

the game wont have a choice but to load it if you change them all?

edit: wooot! :)

btw i found this quote funny on activision forum:

Help would be lovely, since i'm on a tripplehead setup and want to go 3840x1024 or 4320x900.

From what i've found it limits your resolution by the amount of ram your videocard has. By their standards, to push a resolution that high, a single card would need probably 4gigs+ of vram, which doesn't exist. GG Activision.

Also Ive found a solution for mouse lag.
Its seems that game is having hard time tracking position of the mouse when its above 60fps.
Using v-sync will only degrade your performance.

So use a little program called fps limiter.The link is below the post.
Copy rar content into prototype folder , create shortcut to desktop and replace traget line with this (simply add location of the prototype):

"C:Program Files (x86)ActivisionPrototypeFPS_Limiter.exe" "C:Program Files (x86)ActivisionPrototypeprototypef.exe"

Pressing f10 you can decrease your fps limit , and f11 increases it.

take a look at this guide if you are stuck, its similar but we'll be editing 640x480 instead of 800x600

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/10641

its not a string, its 2 dword numbers, so just use GoTo/Jump To feature and paste the dll offset 0x01075BC8.

you should see 80020000E0010000 in the hex data

8002 = 640
E001 = 480

uploading the file for others may not be a great idea.. its part of the original game so youre violating some agreement if you did

When i enter the "Replace 20 03 with 80 07 and replace 58 02 with B0 04" for 1920x1200, the only thing that happens is 640x480 option is gone.
Does the hex change for each game? And does it matter i have the Steam version?
I know why it doesn't work, i dont have enough vram. But is there anyway to force it? And i tried the windowed mode, but its just in the top left corner of my screen, not full.

To make it work you gotta change every resolution to desired one.
