I've included some configuration files which have been edited for 960x600, 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 which are all 16:10 resolutions and 1280x1024 for normal TFT's, game settings are at medium, providing you do not alter the display resolution ingame you can increase or decrease detail settings as you wish.

Rename and Copy the file of the resolution you want to the following locations.

Rename file to R6GameConfig.bin

Place the renamed file in your "My DocumentsUbisoftR6Vegas" folder over write if you get prompted.

R6Vegas.rar

File is hosted on putfile.com size of file is 2,899 bytes (2.8kb)

Firstly...thanks for your hard work.

Can't get it to work. Which file would be used for 1680 x 1050? Closest file I see in the extracted RAR is R6Gameconfig1650.bin.....(edit) when I try to use it, the game crashes.

Thanks for your help.

^same question as above...

Trying to get it working at 1680x1050.
The description says it's supported, but it's unclear what bin to use.

Would anyone be able to do a MASSIVE favour and post a windowed 1024x768 resolution rather than fullscreen - if this is possible?

Thanks a million,

Okay...got it to work....use the 1650 config file, rename it, etc etc...

But when you go into the options screen in your game the res will say 800 x 600...don't change it, leave the res and the game will work in 1680 x 1050....

When the game starts a black sqaure will sit in the middle of your screen, but as soon as you move your mouse the graphics fade in allowing you to play the game...

Have fun...looks gorgeous!

vegas widescreen fix

Post by BrunoGesche »

I run 1680x1050, and i use the hack to get widescreen, my res is correct, but the hud is clipping. The hud, night vision, and thermal sight is not stretched to the edge of the screen. Is there any way to improve upon the current hack to achieve a fix for this?

It's great you guys have gotten the game running in full Hor+. I can't wait till I get this game also! And just a question, what does [-3rd] mean in the full solution thread?

P.S. I think the next project should be getting the game to run in Windowed mode. All other previous Unreal Engine games can run in windowed mode fine. Any ideas?

[-3rd] - A simple fix, but requires the use of a third party program, such as the solution for Morrowind.

I agree. If we could get the game running in windowed mode this would a lifesaver

The Announcement: at the top of the " Widescreen Confirmed Solutions - PC" section explains all ... you should read it ... ...

Is anybody else having problems with the 1440 resolution and one below that? I'll post pics later, but at those resolutions it seems the screen has shifted to the left or right. It's hard to explain, but you turn invisible and some walls go missing. Anybody?

Here's what happens when I set it to 1440. See the black bar on the right?

Here's what happens when I set it to 1280

I have no idea why these two widescreen resolutions dont work but 1680x1050 does work. I want to lower the res because of lag issues. PLEASE I would REALLY appreciate it if you could tell me how to fix this as soon as possible. Maybe it has something to do with the second patch but im not sure. Thank You.

For all those people requesting other resolutions

It's not that hard to make your own resolution if you know something about decimal and hex values

so if you already have some background info about that i'm sure you can do this by yourself
use this free hex editor

Code: Select all

http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm#download

just open R6gameconfig.bin with it

use this to change decimal to hex and vice versa

Code: Select all

http://www.afineride.com/dechex.html

now for example i have a friend who needs a 1400*1050 res
i started with my config which is 1440*900 (i've downloaded this from wgsgf)

1440 in hex is 05 A0, so in the hex editor search for A0 05( you have to switch them, has something to do with big or little endian)

so now we have to look for the hex of 1400...

1400 in hex is 05 78, switch it, then it is 78 05

so to change the wide resolution from 1440 to 1400 al you have to do is change the value A0 05 to 78 05

and to change 900 to 1050, you have to change

84 03 to 1A 04

That's it

Greetz

Kweker

Note: I've used my config which was 1440*900, so if you dont find 05 A0 in your R6gameconfig.bin it is because you do not have this

Use at your own risk, be sure you know what you do!

Thank you for this post. I asked MadMos5y to make a custom res of 1368x768, but he must be flooded with requests. I couldn't wait, so I used this post and the Hex Editor to make my 1368x768 res for my 1366x768 HDTV. I am now one happy camper. :D

No more 6 pixel black bar on the side of my screen, like with the 1360x768 res.

Is 1440x900 a resolution that your monitor does without having to add it as a custom resolution ?
It looks like the sort of thing that happens when using a resolution that the monitor can't quite do ...
I had it a while back when I was looking into NFS-U for someone and tried 1440x900 on my 2405 ... a resolution that my monitor used to be able to do no problem by setting up a custom res but now it seems the newer drivers don't quite do it correctly and it resulted in the game appearing pretty much the way it is for you.

Putting your system specs into your profile so that they are displayed at the bottom of your posts might also help people to help you ...

My monitor is an HP f2105 and the highest res is 1680x1050.

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz

Memory: 2046MB RAM

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT/GTO

Is that enough info to see the problem?

Can your monitor do 1440x900 as a desktop resolution ?

If not have you set up a custom 1440x900 res ?
