NFS: Carbon widescreen request/solutions

screw that patch and the game, i'm not an idiot, i did exactly what the steps said to do, the pos patch doesn't want to work... also screw the asshole at gamestop that said it was widescreen compatible and screw their no return policy for pc games... i'll just donate the game to some kid with a 1975 crt screen...

You HAVE TO use the razor exe! It works only with that version.
1. Download the "razor" exe
2. start the game, set 640*480 resolution, quit
3. rename the nfsc.exe to speed2.exe
4. patch it as described above
5. start the game, the res will be ws AND AR correct :D

with dll hack:

with new method:

ok whats the point of downloading the razor exe? all it is, is the original exe file right? the whole problem me and someone else are having is the patch program no letting me type in the desired resolution in the boxes... can someone explain please?

I had the same problem. What about trying before asking? :roll: :D

With original CE exe, you can't change the res with uniws.
With Razor1911 crack you can.
Don't ask why! Just because.

It works 100%

how can i use the CE features i need a Unlocker like that in Most Wanted who upgrades normal version into CE

The reason why you need to download the no-dvd crack is so you can change the resolution settings in patch program. You are not able to type anything in the resolution change boxes because you have not yet cracked the DVD reader of the game. Notice in the upper left side of uniws program screen? It says something to the effect of "Will only work with no-Cd crack," right?

So download a no-DVD crack for NFS Carbon, run it, THEN follow the rest of the steps with the uniws program. It should work! :D

@ Everyone else who apparantly DID already have the NO-DVD crack installed: Didn't think of that, did you? Maybe instead of treating other people like they're idiots when they weren't able to get it working right away, you could use that thinking power constructively.
