Here's another preview at bit-tech. Looks like the game is very close to done, but is still a little buggy. Let's hope between now and the end of March they can clear out the bugs and optimize the game a bit. There's a few screenshots in the preview, so it's definitely worth a look.

Yeah, I just read that. Stalker still looks impressive, but I might wait for a couple of patches, rather than pre-ordering like I was thinking I might...

Aren't that bad? Come on, those graphics are STILL sweet. No, they're not OMFGWTFZOMG like they once were, but given the evolution of technolodgy, they'll be easier to run than previously, and they still look waaay better than Half-Life 2.

I'm looking forward to this game.

Yeah man, that's what I'm sayin' - I like 'em!

Plus, chances are good the game will be able to run maxed on decent gear - i.e. like in my sig - instead of having to lien my car for a PC upgrade loan...

Just to let you all know, there was an excellent update on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. posted to eurogamer a few days ago.
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=72636
Among other things they point out it'll run great even on older machines, and is actually a fun game already. It certainly sounds like one worth playing given some of the descriptions.
(I've had the game preordered with amazon since 2003..!)

Played the multiplayer beat last night, not sure if I'm impressed, the game it's self seems to be good, but I just didn't get into it. I'd say the single player will be sweet!
I still visit occasionally.

Cool, looking forward to it. It might look a little outdated compared to the likes of Gears of War and such, but im sure it'll still be a good game :).

I don't think the graphics are outdated. Look at the third picuture here:

They certainly dont look bad thats for sure! The shadows are very nice, i just dont think they're quite up to some of the better looking titles availible at the moment. The models are quite a bit blockier than Gears of War too... (then again, everything looks bad compared to gears of war :)).

Most of the time games have different publishers and copy protection methods in different countries of distribution. No way to tell what they'll use out here, they used securom in Germany for Stalker.
