Been tempted to quit smoking but since AMD just dropped its price of the X2 3800+ to £99 incl VAT i now have no need lol.
Where have you seen that price??
I was looking at that cpu a few days ago for around £140

You probably wont for a week or two more yet. They haven't actually dropped the prices yet, so if a retailer is offering it at the reduced cost, the financial loss is entirely on the retailer :P.

AMD have confirmed these prices, and the chips are due on Monday from OcUK as far as am aware. They are on the site with Pre-Order status.
I am gonna wait untill some quailty boards come out, a DFI or Asus Crossfire board hopefully.

AMD UK have told OcUK to go ahead with the selling of chips at the reduced prices, so therefore the cost has dropped.

I just checked it out, and if they aren't getting any stock until Monday (the 24th, the day the price officially drops) then it doesn't really matter does it?

it some what does due to the fact that OcUK had approx 10 X2 3800+ and 2 4000+, they all have been sold at the current dropped prices berfore the 24th.

Absolutely! Yup pieced it together with other no name components and added some Parker stainless quick disconnects...

lol, £1500 is a LOT of money for a monitor!!
especially when the smaller dell monitors are a better spec... think I'll just have to settle for a 2407 8)
