Skyrim Multi-Monitor User Interface Fix Discussion
HaYDeN, thank you so much for your fix. The most important HUD features are properly aligned now and the game is finally playable in 7680x1600 :)
However, I do have a slight issue. With the fix enabled, the game crashes back to the desktop every time I try to take a screenshot (FRAPS, Steam). No error message is displayed. I'm a screenshot junkie so this is pretty annoying. Do you know what this could be?
Thanks!
Sorry Hayden, meant to say

Sorry Hayden, meant to say 6120 x 1080.
And to the NVIDIA people running SLI GTX580's, are you getting the 40 FPS average in towns as well?

Odd that you'd have problems, I use ATI but don't use bezel compensation, I'll try it at some point - but can you post a screenshot of the incorrect rendering?

I'm running two GTX 570's in SLI @ 5760x1200 and getting the same amount of. I probably should be getting higher FPS than that shouldn't I?
Yes, you should be getting higher FPS. Our cards have only 1.2GB VRAM, there should be a ceiling somewhere- but I'm playing at 6000x1200 on ultra 2xAA 16xAF without issue. Haven't run FRAPS, but the game runs as smooth as Fallout3. I haven't bothered with my overclock on the GPUs, seems to be enough at vanilla... 905MHz is there if needed, but it's not necessary here.
Someone mentioned a CPU bottleneck. I disagree- have you checked your chart recorder for CPU usage? This game is pretty low. [email protected], 12GB RAM... decent, but my system resources have elbow room for days. Remember, this game has to run on consoles that represent midrange PCs from 5 years ago.
Yeah, we essentially have the exact same system.
I actually just added Skyrim to the NVIDIA control panel. Can't *quite* tell if there's an improvement in FPS, I think there might be. But only like about 9 or so FPS. In some places, I dip down to 20 FPS when it's really busy. It's sort of strange, only when there's buildings present. Also, my GPU usage always seems to stay between 40% - 60% usage on both GPU's
Otherwise I'm usually 35 FPS average or so. Some times 40 average.
But honestly, getting the UI elements perfected is way more important than some few places that gives me FPS issues. Although fixing both would be a god send.

There's an in-game screen shot tool. Just press PrtScrn, it saves it to the Skyrim directory.

Thanks for the reply.
The in-ingame screenshot function also results in a crash. But at least it can create the screenshot file. It only captures the left screen, nothing more. Then I guess it crashes...

[quote]In terms of Bezel Correction, I know you divide the bezel corrected resolution by 3 but this ends up cutting the menu's up short a little.
Is there a fix for this? I run mine at 2160 x 1080.
Can you show me a screenshot? at 2160x1080 I would assume you have 2 monitors, you should device by 2, altho 2160 is too low, so you must be refering to a single monitor res? 2160x3? :)
And if anyone wants to help out - try finding a way to adjust the size of the 3D models in the inventory etc, its positioned with + or - 22.0f and sized with 1.5f
Awesome! Last I checked the inventory scaling things I noticed that are directly tied to the rendering area....at some point I did manage to scale down on Vertical but the gamed crashed 5 minutes later.
I will give a look at those numbers and see maybe I have some luck:)

Nice.
I managed to fix the reading book things:)
Great, keep it up m8, awesome ! :onethumb
Books - for those that care..
Unzoomed skill tree - and any other menu items that were messed up..
Still the 3D model's being too large (aka, inventory) remains.
Haha fantastic news ! :onethumb
yeah so true.
I would disable SLi but then I can't multi-mon.
Anyone else with NVIDIA cards running SLi having average FPS?
Game runs smooth as silk here all ulra, but only AA2x in 3D Surround, 3 x GTX 480.
i tried almost everything now,
even lowered my native res and tried all kind of offset res, disabling crossfire, but it always start up with three similar logo on three monitors (does not become one single display), my eyefinity not working..
using amd 6970... please help..
the hayden fix does nothing to my system at all, am i doing something wrong?
Have you tried to delete SkyrimPrefs.ini at C:Users...DocumentsMy GamesSkyrim (make a backup), you may also try a clean reinstall of video drivers.
thanks for the reply and the solution for my solved case.. if only u answer sooner, but thanks anyway.. :)
it turns out that i've been editing the .ini in skyrim folder and not in documentsmy games folder... LOL..
running fine n smoothly now without crossfire 7680 x 1440.. THANKS hayden! u r the man!

Tried haydens fix, disabled Bezzel-Correction but the game runs unstable and crashes to Desktop a lot (which is not a problem without the fix), switched back to Single-Screen. Running Fix and game both as Admin.
Is this working with eyefinity now? Are the people having problems in the minority, or are there still serious problems?
I'm exsperiencing the same

I'm exsperiencing the same thing, skyrim is crashing to desktop every 10min'ish with the fix.
But i'm stubborn, i'd rather play with surround then on single, so alot of quicksaving and rebooting.
Amazing work on the fix, hopefully the desktop crashing is one of the kinks that will be figgured out.
Thanks to all the people that has partisipated on the work on both fixes, you have saved alot of skyrim fans from oblivion! :p

Awesome fix Hayden, excellent work, as always. Any news on the map? Same as before or where you able to do any progress on this, too?
Just for the note: Skyrim crashes for me without Hayden's tool, too. But it is wayyyyyyyyyyyy less often. Only every few hours, if at all. The tool (At least in its first iteration) makes it "only" worse...
Dunno if/when/how this can be fixed...
