I seriously doubt that IW will do anything. In fact, I know that they have not dedicated any resources to go back and make MW2 Eyefinity "friendly". I have a good job, make decent money and I like to relieve some stress in the evenings by playing MW2 online. Using an Eyefinity 1x3 widescreen setup is sweet, but I still regularily get me arse kicked!

To that end, I have sent Mr. Dopefish a donation to reward his past, current and future efforts to improve our gaming experience. This is all between us here . . . no one tell my wife! She would not understand : )

Maybe we should start a internet petition that will show Infinity Ward how many users are out there for WSGF fixer for MW2? anyone want to start a blog we can sign? Good to hear that Dopefish is doing better. We wish him the best of luck and appreciate his hard work in making the fixer. I miss MW2, hard to play thru a porthole when you have had the three 26" screens! :-(

I might have something ready later today or tomorrow. I apologize for the delay.

As for future versions of MW2, I'll still work on updating Widescreen Fixer each time a new release is out. And for the future of Widescreen Fixer... if at any point in time I feel like quitting or not updating it, I will release the source and let someone else take over. The beta version has been made easier for developers to work with. The libraries are managed DLLs and you simply load them in VS and make your own plugin. The documentation isn't ready yet but I have posted how to use it in another thread here.

One piece of source code is readily available here: http://wsf.imk.cx/Wolfenstein.cs.html

[quote][quote]We could bug Infinity Ward to Just Support it themselves.

You are soooo right! Now for the hard part... how do we get IW attention ???
Maybe go and lobby in there forums?

Dopefish I have to acknowledge the work you have done on the widescreen fixer, very nicely done. If you sold that retail in a box or download I would easily pay $20.00 or more for it now that I have triple monitors. I write a lot of VBScript and such for my job and have been in IT for about 16 years so I can appreciate the work you put into it.

I wonder would they lock that thread if BFBC2's out of the box surround support was mentioned.

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that the code is updated and ready.

The bad news is that I can't have my friend compile it until tomorrow (It's practically tomorrow already).

I'll make a post here and on twitter when I upload it and it's ready for download.

I hate to be late to the party.. but does this mean that as of now, this doesn't work for MW2? I just installed my 3rd monitor tonight, excitedly installed the widescreen fix and damit, i get a pic across all 3 screens but its stretched waaaay to much, and its just a stretched image of what is already there, i know this because I screencapped the exact same location in both 5760x1080 and 1920x1080 and it shows the same thing, just much fatter. Does this not work anymore, or am I doing something wrong?

First of all, welcome to the eyefinity club! :)

As for your question:
No, widescreen fixer does not work for MW2 right now, because whenever there is a new patch, the DLL file you load into Widescreen fixer must be updated for the new version. Dopefish, the developer of Widescreen fixer, is hopefully releasing the updated files today.

Also, im experiencing, when i use widescreen fixer, that i sometimes have to click my assigned "fix-key" twice before the affects are taking place. Just a heads up to you, and Dopefish. :)

I think i speak for us all when i say thank you Dopefish for the effort you are making for this community. I love that you do this without charging anything. I might just throw in a donation myself. Good luck with the situation you are having, i really hope it works out for the better :)

Kind regards, Aleksander

Thanks for the reply,

I'm at least glad to know that it wasn't something I was messing up. I spent hours messing with this last night and stayed up way to late. I look forward to the new release of widescreen fix because as of now I only have 1 game and that is MW2.. I can only handle 1 addicition at a time haha

Is it common for MW2 to regularly need updated versions of WF or does it usually go pretty long before MW2 "updates" and needs a new fixer?

Thank you!

Only one problem though, the hud is still stretched. Like the experience bar and the flag hover pointers and stuff.
