The patcher has no effect on version numbers or any bytes apart from the few required to remove the pillarboxing.
The inability to invite friends is a common issue among the ones reported, and has nothing to do with it.

Even the devs recognize it as a game issue.

I had a different version as a friend of mine displayed in the debug info on the main menu (Properties of the .exe still showed 1.06 though). Restoring the original .exe gave me the same version as my friend, and the altered .exe as well.

Probably just a 'fluke' on my end though, as I can imagine that if the patcher really was the culprit, there would be a lot more reports here. Anyways, I can play the game just fine online in 21:9, will try the patcher again after the next update of the game/when needed.

The update is out now, and the FOV slider is included as promised.
I updated the patcher and the mod.

Rose I downloaded the updated patcher. However when I try to extract it my Windows Defender won't run the .exe because it says it has a virus. Any idea why it is doing that?

The virus it is detecting is labeled as "Program:Win32/Unwaders.A!ml

The AV software likely sees it as a file unknown to the system, so it blocks it as part of its heuristics algorithm. Anyone can add it to the list of exclusions, as we discussed on Discord.

Patcher worked flawlessly, have been enjoying the new Tokyo level in 21:9. Thanks!

Patcher doesnt work on the new version 1.21. To be honest, seeing as how the fix of Rose has been working so far, I would have thought 21:9 support would have been added in an official patch already. Rose's fix is practically flawles, and his fix was already available almost immediately after release.

I updated the exe as soon as I got the update, which was an hour ago, then updated the patcher just now.
I made it into a permanent solution, so hopefully this is the last time you'll need me to deliver.

In the future I will look into making a more permanent solution. As of now there are other games that have or likely to have no UW support that I want to look into first.

Oh, hot damn, did not even check your post with the fixes in it as I did not expect you to have them updated not even an hour after release. Thanks! Great work again! Lets hope the devs will add 21:9 support soon, but in the mean time: Thank you very much for the work!

This is a great fix! Enabled triple monitor support. Works fine in DX11 but the image is stretched across all three screens with VULKAN enabled.
