ATI is heavily pushing BC2 since it has DX11... If it didn't have proper Eyefinity support I would be shocked.

remember this is coming from Electronic "no we won't enable widescreen cos it gives an unfair advantage to some players" Arts we are talking about!

Err... that didn't make me feel any better.

So... 16:9 for consoles and probably a small fov.

Yeah that's widescreen confirmed...... :evil:

Dice has been good to the PC so far, don't be pessimistic. Mirror's Edge was about as great a port as you can get I thought and their previous work was all PC-centric.

While DICE is very historically PC-aware and is now pushing it's PC credentials, if only to look good against the MW2 poop. But the huge WS is a cheat attitude that came with BF2 and 2142 makes me a little worried. I came to WSGF because of BF2's rubbish WS support; at least the 1.5 patches enable it one way or the other. However I hope that BC2 will allow normal AR HOR+ (I'd put money on that, they will need it as Pro-PC and anti-IW ammo!) and the engine will allow us to use a fixer for surround, if nothing else. We won't find out until the DEMO though...

I think with widescreen being much, much more prevalent now there isn't need to worry too much. Triplehead... maybe.

But uh... not to set the forum against me, but... TH does give you an edge, does it not? :nudgenudge

For me, not a huge amount. I played MW2 in 1920x1200 until the fixer came out and my performance didn't noticeably get all of a sudden better. It improved over time, so now I normally sit in the top 10% from being in the bottom third, but that is just getting used to the maps and stuff. It does make a difference but not so much as you may think. Increases my immersion and enjoyment many fold though!
But I reckon using my G9 mouse over an old-fashioned ball mouse gives me a much bigger advantage! And (as they say) if you want equal playing grounds, use your 360* ;)

*Although I use a XIM360 on that anyway :twisted:

God this shit makes me cranky. I don't even have surround monitors and i pisses me off people use the better hardware is an advantage argument, it is humourous that the argument is so "limted in perspective" when the argument is against "limiting perspectives."

Peasants.

I was just saying you can't say it isn't an advantage, it is to some degree. But as stated so is my 4,000dpi mouse. I wasn't using it as an arguement against TH resolutions, only saying them saying that isn't exactly BS.

I went from

P4 Single-core -> AMD X4 965 125w
1gb ram -> 4gb Dual Channel
HD2900 -> Crossifre HD5770s
250gb -> 500gb (1platter)

Just to find out MW2 has no dedicated servers...it's my first day on my computer.. and alll I have to say is...

I CAN'T WAITTTTTTTTTTTTT FOR BFBC2!

My peice of string is longer that your peice of string, therefore I have the advantage.

Well the BS is not that TH is an advantage (as is a good mouse etc); the BS is using that as an excuse to not support WS and/or TH.

Still I played a fair few hundred hours of BF1942/VN/2/2MC/2142/BC/1943/BC2beta/(even a few on Heroes ++SPIT++) on single screen in 3 different formats so I doubt that lack of TH support will stop me playing the hell out of BC2 :)

Uh Oh !!!

Eyefinity confirmed to Battlefield Bad Company 2 PC.

Take a look about rendering architect of DICE Frosbite:

We support Eyefinity and with a wider FOV, although the integration isn't fully done & tested just yet.

I don't think it will be unfair in MP, saying it would be would be the same as saying it would be unfair for someone to have a really high mouse precision so he can run and super-quickly turn around and as such see everything that is going on around him. But that is obviously something we all accept.

We have to do more testing and see how it turns out, but I'm not worried.

MAJOR WIN! :rockout :rockout :rockout

Can we publisise this please? This is a major step forward.

EDIT: God this is good news, means we might get the right FOV as well.

I am ecstatic! ::TrueWS and :triplewide

Just speechless.

With joy.

Someone asked on the forum if single mons could do TH FoV on their screens, can anyone point me to an image of something running that? It must look hilarious!
