I change Resolution with Hex editor and its always 1280 x 800
Yes someone already figured that out , it seems hex edit allows only custom resolutons , the ones that are not on lock list.
LoopyDood will check that soon I think.

and E001 with 0003 = 768 ??
also when I searched for the hex it was located in 01075bc0
after running the game the resolution is back 1280x720!!
and 640x480 option disappeared in the setting menu!

Racer_S, could you please fix this for us?
I fear youre our only hope since atari doesnt give a .. about their costumers.
My thread has been on their forums for 3 days now , nobody from their support team even posted there.

Racer_S is working on it. Patience !
The strings are there for you to HEX edit if you can. If it's a little too complicated for you, then just be patient and wait for a patch. The game's only been out a few days ! :onethumb

I figured how to do a hex edit , but it reverts resolution back to 1280x800 and the resolution I edited is gone in the menu.
Still , Im interested how did Racer_S get that huge 5k x 1k resolution, it reverts back for me every time.

Did you make sure to set the resolution to 640x480 before editing the DLL, this is important because you will not be able to choose this new resolution in game.
I did it exactly how I posted.
I didnt try any other methods or resolutions as of yet
Did anyone get this working beside me?

Clean install.
Set resolution to 640x480.
Hex edit 640x480 -> 1440x900. Save.
Enter game.
Resolution is now 1280x800 , and theres no 640x480 anymore.

Hey there.
I just stumbled upon something in the Activision Forum.
Starting the game by adding "windowed" to the shortcut (prototypef.exe windowed), then running it in a maximized window, somehow (at least for me) bypasses the resolution restriction.
I can choose 1680x1050 and upwards from the game menu with a <500 MB card.
The only drawback is your mouse curser permanently appearing on-screen.
Maybe this info helps somehow.

This actually allows game to be played at any resolution , but windows mouse is visible over the menu mouse , and its even visible ingame if you dont use v-sync.
V-sync removes the mouse and fixes mouse lag but reduces fps alot.
