The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Re: Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
You could try and replicate the issue with a close custom resolution.
You would think there would be some noise about it somewhere if 1440x900 was busted.
Maybe a driver issue?

Re: Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Good news on the gamma issue: I started poking around the game's DLLs with a hex editor, looking for "gdi32" and "gamma", and I found that there's an undocumented way to disable the game's use of hardware gamma ramp override:
1. Select Start->Run and then type in the following and hit OK or Enter: %LOCALAPPDATA%
2. In the folder that opens, browse to Atari, and then "The Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena"
3. Make a backup copy of Environment.cfg
4. Open Environment.cfg in a text editor.
5. Add a line to the end that says the following: VID_GAMMADISABLE=1
The game should no longer override your hardware gamma settings. Interestingly, the in-game gamma setting still adjusts the gamma slightly, but at a software level instead of a hardware level.
I was able to verify this by creating and enforcing a rose-tinted gamma ramp in Monitor Configuration Wizard, and then running the game. The screen stayed rose-tinted and did not flicker.

Re: Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Recently I've discovered that the gameplay of this game is actually hor+ rather than 16:9 anamorphic. Right now I don't have much time to describe a solution in details, but I'll post it as soon as I can.
Can someone please tell me
Can someone please tell me how to change the field of vision in this game?
OK, the FOV solution, as well
OK, the FOV solution, as well as various useful tweaks, is described here. Unfortunately, it's written in Russian, so you'll have to use Google or Bing to translate it.
Post in this thread if you have trouble understanding the way the solution works.

Best Settings For 1600 x 900
Not sure if this has been covered already (the whole pixel ratio thing has me a bit confused) but what are the best settings for playing on a 1600 x 900 monitor? I'd like to use the entire screen without distortion (and black bars, if possible).
EDIT: Just played the game again and put my settings to 1600 x 900 and Normal and it worked perfectly

Copy loader in the folder "Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena\System\Win32_x86" and start game through it.
If the loader does not work for you then also copy these files - (links removed)
Fix - available from the PC Gaming Wiki Community Files (search there)
