Far Cry 2 ... TripleHead Fix ...

Post by Paddy the Wak »

I wonder if GTA IV will work triplewide (none of the previous games have), we will see soon...(though its delayed a bit)...
Dunno if you know but GTA III and Vice City did do TH with a FOV tool from Racer_S ... :wink:
(May be you just meant they don't work out of the box)
I didn't ever try San Andreas.

Far Cry 2 ... TripleHead Fix ...

Huh, I always thought there was a widescreen 16:10 fix, but not triplewide, good to know.

GTA San Andreas takes a while to get into, but once you discover how huge the world is in the game it does get interesting exploring...(accidently found a San Francisco part of the game during a model plane mission, game is huge!)...

Don't suppose there's any way to fix the text stretching or HUD centering?

Not sure which game your asking about but it doesn't matter as I don't know of a HUD fix for either game ... :lol:

The tool has been updated to work with the patch ... :cool:

- What's new in v4.0 on 11/6/08?
* Added support for v1.01 patch
* Added Auto Enable option
* Possible DEP workaround

Sorry ... I forgot to update the thread ... :oops:

Far Cry 2 ... TripleHead Fix ...

Post by WaveZtream »

I have no idea why I can't play Far Cry 2 with just 1 monitor without having the whole damn screen narrow. It looks like the 5040x1050 is fit into 1680x1050 it's horrible.

Guess the game have some serious wide screen problems so the FOV is totally of. Crysis was so much better when it came to TH2GO than this game. Crysis have native support and all and Far cry 2 don't now that is weird.

Is anyone running Far Cry 2 in 5040x1050 with ultra high setting? If so what settings on the fov fix are you using?

Fix ? Its not necessary, the game supports widescreen / surround resolutions.

When I run it at 5760 x 1080 the picture is stretched. It looks like MW2 before hitting the keys to enable dopefish's widescreen fix.

Edit: Looks like I have to run my desktop resolution at 5760 x 1080 for it to work properly. Running the desktop at 1920 x 1080 was causing the problem.

That;s weird, it should work with the latest patch. Both with eyefinity and TH2Go, I was able to have the correct FOV.

It's just a glitch in Nvidia Surround. The desktop resolution has to match and then it's fine. TF2 has something similar. In TF2 I have to manually change the res to 5760 x 1080 each time I start the game :doh

It's just a glitch in Nvidia Surround.
It's a "glitch" in how these games calculate their aspect ratio, actually. As for Far Cry 2, it's also stated very clearly in the Detailed Report. :wink:
