BTW how do your hacks work Racer_S, just generally speaking. Are they memory hacks, or some kind of wrapper?

Heck, i don't play any of my games that don't run at native res anymore... I have since turned off scaling so those games look tiny on my 30inch monitor.

Never forget, you the user also have rights. Just because the artist "forces" his "vision" on your product that you bought and paid for doesn't mean you don't have the right to fix his "vision" to your standards.

So, by that same standard, I take it you prefer watching movies in Pan-and-Scan instead of Widescreen? How is this any different than that?

I will, but before I do so, are we sure Racer_S's hack still works on the patched version?

It doesn't ... I sent him a request to get it working with the Patch.

any news ??? doesn`t work with 1.2 patch!

hey all. this is what happened . i downloaded the game from direct2drive.com after reading the pcgamer review, and inmediately found out about the fov patch so i downloaded it and also downloaded the 1.2 patch , inmidiately after intalling i intalled the patch too and then tried the fix the game wont load any game , i appear at the animus building and cant load any game so i tried it without the fov2 fix and played it then tried to use the fov fix again and it worked but the framerate was terrible, i restarted and now its back at the animus building without letting me play. so i think maybe its because i shouldnt have installed the 1.2 patch or is it my drivers? any help to finally use this fix is appreciated . thanx in advance racer S. and paddy

I have sent Racer_S two requests to update it for the patch but I have not had a reply ... :(

must be busy working on it . thanx paddy that was fast. im still enjoying the game, its just that it would be great to see a bigger picture. hope mass effect has proper 16:10 any news on that one? still a good game assassins creed is imho.

Does this fix still not work on 1.02? Or does it? I don't want to try it before I find out, just to avoid messing anything up.

I got several blue screen of death after a few hours playing
with multiple different drivers, a 8800GTS512 & the updated fov fix... on winXP64. (no problem whatsoever without the fov fix)

Whether or not this is related to me or the fov fix I don't know.

Anyway, does it still BSOD withOUT the fix? What's teh BSOD code? If it coems up and restart too fast for you to catch the specific error, do this:

Navigate to the Control Panel in Windows XP by left-clicking on Start, followed by Settings and then choosing Control Panel.

In the Control Panel window, open System.

Note: In Microsoft Windows XP, depending on how your operating system is setup, you may not see the System icon. To correct this, click on the link on the left-hand side of the Control Panel window that says Switch to Classic View.

In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.

Locate the Startup and Recovery area and click on the Settings button.

In the Startup and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.

I just gave that as my own experience with the fov hack
I don't really care anymore, I don't fiddle around with things giving BSODs too much because I have a RAID 5 array which tends to rebuild upon some BSODs & this kills HDD performance for several hours ..

Don't remember the exact BSOD code but I remember it was about some nvidia dll which in the end is logical since the hack fiddles with graphics ...

And of course it doesn't BSOD without the fov fix otherwise I wouldn't have posted that ;) (&using acfov3 along assassin's creed 1.02)

Eh, thread revival is just fione. It beats filligun teh site with tiny threads...

Godo to hear that it works fien withotu teh hack, but it's wider in 16:9, so I'm a fan of anamorphic 16:9 on my single (-ish) display.
