Hey guys ... I was impressed by the refraction of broken glass in the game ... so I made a short vid ...
It's a bit compressed but I think you can see it clearly enough ...

Yes, the refraction looks very nice (Although, I have not seen it on my PC... strange). And thanks for the surround screenshots!

I have to admit this game is very detailed, and a blast to play! I finally found it at EB games two days ago, and I think i've had as much fun playing it as you Paddy! :) The only thing that really bothers me though... the text in multiplayer. It is WAY TOO BIG! Paddy, we need to work on a way to move the mulitplayer chat & death text and make it smaller!

It's such a shame when you're trying to play the beautiful game online with messages filling your screen!

Hey Cornflake ... glad you like the vid and the screenshots ... :D

I don't play MP as my internet connection is wireless and my ping is too high for a decent MP game ... :(
I have seen screenshots of MP and I know what you mean regarding the chat text being too big .... my guess is it won't get fixed until the modders get the kit they need to start modding.

I suspect the things that need changing are in the ... r6hud_mp.mgb but at the moment I don't know of any way to open/edit .mgb files ... :(

Yeah the refraction looks pretty neat and i wouldn't have noticed it unless you bought it up. I guess its all these little things that make up the overall experience.

I overplayed Vegas before New Year and then felt terrible on New Years Day so didn't play it at all, and i really missed it. So I'm excited to play it again later today! :D How sad ;p

I think I'm going to refrain from completing it, so that when i get my new system, I can start it all over again with a decent frame rate and probably get twice the enjoyment out of it!

I have lost count of the number of times I have played it through but I haven't done the last scene yet ...
I am waiting for a patch or updated drivers as there are a few minor problem in the game ... some effects not showing up with the 8800's ... :roll:

Beware ... if you start a new game it will wipe all of your completed levels !!!

yeah I'm in the last bit before the final scene. I may start a new game from the beginning now then. From past experience, when i complete a game, i don't want to play it again, and i dont want that to happen!

What effects were you talking about that doesn't run on the 8800 series sometimes, Paddy? I don't think anything's missing on my end... although I haven't seen that glass refraction before. Maybe in only in singleplayer story mode! Oh, and just curios, what temp. does one of your 8800's typically idle at? Mine's idling at 80C which seems a bit hot, even for this card... :?

And hopefully we can mod the game for different HUD text, like you said, eventually because it's driving me nuts. Let me give you guys an idea of how bad it typically blocks your view:

Now look at that! The text goes PAST the CENTER of my screen! It urks the crap outta me!

P.S. Paddy, if you select "Single Player" in the main menu and click "Story Mode" will that clear out all of your saved games?

Anyway if you go ...
"Single Player"
"Story Mode"
"Scene Selection"
then choose ...
"Calypso Casino"
"Security"
Once in the casino check out the fish tanks that are around the room ... do you get nice water reflections on the floor etc. ?
I don't with my 8800's but do with my 7900's ... :?

If you choose "Start New Game" you will you loose all your saved games.
I think you can back up your saved games by ... going to ...
C:Documents and Settings*Your name*My DocumentsUbisoftR6Vegas ... copy/backup ... R6_SaveCHECKPOINT
But why not back up the whole folder to be sure ... :wink:
I transfered all my saved games from one comp to the other this way ... :D

Re the temps ... as I say I have to go out ... I'll check them out for you later ...
