Guys remember this the, nfsc.exe is already a .exe file, so if u are changing the filename to nfsc.exe to nsf2.exe with "Hide extensions for known file types" on in the explorer folder options, the file will be named nfs2.exe.exe. So if u guys have hide extensions on, just rename the file to nfs2 and then do as spazticblur wrote.

The uniws.exe only stretches it.

No, it`s not streched. It`s working good in 1440x900, the only problem is that I can`t set resolution smaller than 1440, like 960x600, although the aspect ratio is correct. The game crashes. So maximum or nothing. The game runs not that smooth in that resolution because of my video card. :?

Yeah ok, the aspect ratio is fixed, it looks pretty good, but i'm not sure if it's -VERT or what.

If anyones having performance issues, just take Motion Blur OFF, you'll get about +20fps. And i reckon the game looks better with it off.

hmm.

notice the object at the edge of each screen are the same, therefore we are not getting a larger FOV.

Also, look at the ESC Back interface, notice how its stretched.

Also, notice in the 1920x1080 we see less on the top/bottom, which to me means the aspect ratio is holding true, by removing stuff from top and bottom.

Yep as i thought, it's just -VERT. Playable tho.

And yeah, the game looks a bit shit i think, worse than Most Wanted.

It says "EA" on the box though so can't expect much.

By the way, this game is way better than Most Wanted. MW had the worst physics out of any NFS game since like NFS2. This one has physics which are closer to Underground 2 (actually even a little bit better than that).

For folks having problems with the patcher...

Post by laserdisc »

I too was having problems with the UNIWS patcher until I ran it under Windows2000 compatibility mode.

For those that don't know how this is done...
1)Right click on the uniws.exe file
2)Left click onto Properties
3)Click on the Compatibility tab
4)Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box
5)Select Windows 2000
6)OK.

It doesnt stretch it, it just snips off the top and the bottom.

And for all those who are experiencing "unclickable boxes" you're not doing it right. RE-READ the guide as posted.

Navigate to your NFSC directory (C:Program FilesElectronic ArtsNeed for Speed Carbon default)

Rename the current file called NFSC.exe to speed2.exe

Load the uniws.exe (It doesn't matter where you have extracted this)

Select "Need For Speed Underground 2" from the drop down box.

Then on the left, use the + signs to navigate to where NFSC is installed on your computer.

As soon as you have clicked on the NFSC directory, if you have correctly renamed the .exe, the resolution box will automatically pop up with 640x480.

Type in your desired resolution instead.

Click Patch.

Go back to your NFSC directory and rename the speed2.exe back to NFSC.exe.

..

The reason why those boxes are untypable is either you're in the wrong directory or you haven't renamed NFSC.exe to speed2.exe.

DOUBLE CHECK IT.

Anyway it works great and i haven't had any crashes yet either.
