Those fixes don’t have

Post by Warocia »

Those fixes don’t have anything to do with crashes as far as I can tell. For those of you who are experiencing random crashes(CTD), you should try:

1. Disable steam in game community.
2. Disable autosave.
3. Run Large Address Aware program against TESV.exe

My game crashes whenever I

Post by tobysauce »

My game crashes whenever I try to run my eyefinity resolution. Not even trying to run any of the fixes. Just a normal load of the game with my eyefinity rez set in the prefs.ini will cause the game to crash to windows AFTER the loading screen when I try to load my game. It did not do this before...when I first tried eyefinity for a new game it worked fine. When I switch to single monitor rez the game loads fine.

[quote]Hi guys, I haven't read through the whole thread, so I might be repeating what someone else has said already. Portrait EF works fine for me (3600x1920) once I went into the ini file and set a custom resolution. There is something weird though: near the bottom of my screen, there is a permanent "LEVEL UP" phrase that cannot be clicked and never goes away. See screenshot:

Anyone experienced something like this?

yeah i posted this back on page 21 with a detailed discription of some of the things i've figured out so far..

i really wish i could get rid of it.. as it screws up reading subtitles and crap..... BAH

It seems to only affect us Portrait Eyefinity folks. Hope there is a fix soon...

Large Address Aware seems to be helping me as well. Here is the app I used:

Thank you SO much Hayden for your awesome fix! You rock!

A couple minor things are still kind of wonky, though:

1) Alt-tabbing out and back in makes a lot of the textures go black or just disappear. I have to restart the game to fix this.
2) The loading screens with the helpful hints are squished on my center monitor and are almost impossible to read.

Other than that (and the zoomed in books/3D object views), your fix is AWESOME.

Awesome @Hayden!

As always, fix works pretty well here. I hope the book thing will get sorted out, as for some quests you are required to read books or scrolls or whatever.

BUT... One huge disadvantage... Dunno if this can be fixed... The game map. The Icons of the locations are all on the main screen... You can click them and everything works, but it isn't linked to the actual map...

Eh, does it really matter though? I saw that and I wasn't even sure whether that was the way it was to begin with. I mean you've got the compass directions and a general sense of where it is; the topography isn't going to change your tactics anyway.

I set the textures to medium, and now it loads fine, but there seem to be other issues with eyefinity. The tree sway seems to flicker on and off.

Also the Skyrim_UW app does not work. My rez is 5200x1050, so I input 5200/3 which is 1733.333 (It takes the int, so 1733), and the interface disappears. I figure this is probably because 5200 is not divisible by 3 exactly? Either that or because the app doesn't work with the bezel correction resolutions?

This game looks unbeliveable

This game looks unbeliveable on Ultra settings in 3D Surround, check these two 3D screenshots, you can almost smell the sob :glasses: (click on the 2D preview of the screenshot to download the respective 3D image, you may have to add .jps to the name of the file so you can use a 3D Viewer to open it).

Ok, so I got the Large Address Aware App, and the game now loads in eyefinity properly (so far), but I still have issues with the Haydens app

No, I'd rather no eyefinity than have it without bezel correction...in my mind it defeats the purpose...makes it look bad.

Like I said though, there are other issues with big resolutions it seams; the tree/shadow sway stops as well as other animations, so I think I'm just going to wait a while until there are some fixes.

Did you do anything els than running the fix in admin, entering the value, and starting up the game?

Got HaYDeN's fix working CILLER ? Make sure you run the fix as admin and that UAC is disabled.

Sure, np, im not sure if its possible to add support for bezel compensation in this fix, HaYDeN may clarify this later in this thread.

ok pretty sure I got this

Post by proctous »

ok pretty sure I got this right, FIrst I go into the INI file and change it for my res (5760x1080) save the ini and leave that. then I start HaYDeN's fix tool. Divide my Res by 3 so (1920) then start the tool.. Then I launch the game from folder which is called TESV.exe . did I miss anything...

Awesome work you 3 guys :)

Haydens is nice but i can see it squashes all the icons on the map into the middle monitor, not sure how this could ever get fixed, still an awesome job :)

Editing the SWF's would be the correct way to do things, but meh i can't code, maybe one day some genius will attempt it.

I got it working with bezel correction too, i have a 6016x1080 setup

I entered 2000 into haydens program, because 2005 wouldnt show the main menu.

Also make sure to turn off crossfire from the CCC panel, or you will get terrible fps.

The game is very much playable now, thankyou heaps.

Now just to wait for CAP profiles, so we can squeeze out some more FPS from our super high rez' :)

I Just found a way to get it

Post by CILLER »

I Just found a way to get it working,
It involves creating another windows account so far from what I would like.
It has to do with windows security settings, and that for security reasons I don't use my computer normally in an administrator account.
When running the game and patch from the same account there are no problems but as my normal account is not an admin account that is not possible for me in my normal configuration. Still the problem surprises me as my admin account can edit the memory of the other account and other fixes that involve memory patching never gave any problems.

BTW the fix itself works great. Now lets hope the 3D object and especially books can be fixed.

i also did the same thing with yours, only difference is my res (7680 x 1440)
after i clicked on tesv.exe, my first and third monitor turn off by itself going to power saving mode..

if i disable my crossfire, using hayden tools of course, i can see three similar screen, not eyefinity mode..

this is my steps..

1. set .ini res to 7680 and 1440, save it
2. start hayden fix tool, set it to 2560 and execute injection
3. launch tesv.exe

result with crossfire enabled: only skyrim logo comes out in middle monitor, with no text.. first and third monitor is in power saving mode automatically

result with crossfire disabled: three similar screen, skyrim logo comes out in middle monitor with no text / option menu...

Please help me...
much appreciated...

interestingly enough the game

Post by ugzz »

interestingly enough the game isnt bezel corrected for me, which honestly im ok with. sure it would be nice but it looks amazing anyway. my other games allow me to choose my bezel corrected setting but my standard desktop isnt, as it cuts off a shortcut in the launcher. i suppose i could try to edit the ini with the res, but im just using the blank space in teh launcher which grabs desktop res. use the skyrim ultra wide fix and bam. all is well.

had my first crash today about about an hour and a half of play. i was just running down a street, not loading an area, not doing anything, and bam straight to desktop and the game was closed. this could just be the 1.0 of the game and have nothing to do with the fixer. not sure at this point cause im only playing with it on. screw single monitor! i didnt buy a second card and third monitor to play on one screen :P

nvidia 2d surround
2x gtx 470
285.xx drivers

playing on ultra settings and its butter. lots of jumping around tree shadow bugs and such though.

Try setting it to a bit lower

Post by Pittyh »

Try setting it to a bit lower than 1/3rd of your rez

2003 is the highest i can enter into haydens program even though 1/3rd of 6016 is 2005.33333

if i go any higher i get just the logo on the screen without the menu.
