Sadly my CTDs are just way more common running this Hayden fix. Ran GPU at stock, same thing.
I want to try the Helifax fix but I'm too ignorant of Cheat Engine to know what to do. Can anyone help?
I know that I install Cheat Engine and then run TESV.CT file. Then I choose "select a process to open" and choose TESV.exe. But what do I do on that screen? "Open" or "attach debugger to process". Then it gives me some prompt asking if I want to "keep current address/code list?" No idea what that means.

I created 2 new trainers for 5040x1050 and 5760x1080. The menus will appear on the left monitor:
Key "-" is to fit the left screen
Key"+" is to revert to normal
Yes we are aware of being unable to read the books... I know it bothers me also...as I am a lore RPG fan and like to read and see everything in an RPG... I am still looking into fixing that..for my "stretched menu" solution:)

Helifax trainer works. Got me through the day. Hayden fix is very good- set res in .ini, run patch and enter offset, then TESV.exe. No issues there. Thank you.
CTD here, seems it wants to do that when it loads sound files? Just a guess, I can reload to last save and play through a part that crashed before just fine. I dunno. No change with my particular CTD with any combination of monitor config, patch, or trainer. Probably a Bethesda issue, and not a result of any of the tweaks presented in this thread.
Thanks a lot HaYDeN and and

Weird. Well, with either fix, I get CTD within 5-10 minutes. Just baffling. Going to now go tamp down my CPU overclock and see what happens. Never had any game stability issues before.

Neither fixes SHOULD crash your game! They don't DO THAT MUCH!;)) SO it is either the game's fault or some SYSTEM problems...
BTW: I almost fixed the BOOK problem (not being able to read any books) for my "Stretched menu" approach:)...if anyone cares that is:))
Thx for all the work you guys

Hmm .. my game crashes each time i run it at anything else low graphics :(
I also have to run it at 4800 x 900 instead of 5760 x 1080
I have a SB rig and two 470.
Perhaps it is the new BETA drivers? dident have this problem before.

Keep up the great work! Your approach too has its advantages.
It seems I have fixed my crashing issue. Either the problem was having some apps running - FRAPS, Display Fusion, etc., which seems unlikely - or the problem was some custom ini settings I had put in for graphics (shadows and such). If you're experiencing crashing, go into options and just choose one of the defaults again (high, ultra, etc.).
The game looks gorgeous in Surround and also 3D Surround, though it has the same issue as FONV in regards to misrendered sky depth. Also won't work if you're a bowman because the crosshair is misrendered and the 3D one breaks easily, according to Nvidia forum users. Luckily it's easy enough to hit with spells without needing the crosshair.

Great shots Garden, feel free to create a Gallery here at WSGF if you want - http://widescreengamingforum.com/article/how-create-gallery . We have thousands of eyefinity / surround screenshots that can be checked by clicking on 'Media' on site's top menu.

i do care mate, i am using the hayden fix at the mo and it works brilliantly, apart from the 3D items and the book issue. I'm like you mate, i love the lore of the game as much as the game itself and religiously read every book i can get my hands on. So please finish your work for us.
Just 1 request mate, can you make it as easy to use as hayden's fix.

Thanks to Hayden and anyone who helped.
You have taken an angry weekend at Bethesda's "what could have been" and turned it into an awesome game night for me.
Hope they hire you or something!
The game is totally playable now. (I even have it running in 3D Surround - [gloat])

I will do that.....unfortunately I never used C++ or C# to "hook" into another application (I used them mainly to create new apps or increase the performance of current ones based on the source code of the apps) so this make take a while. Nevertheless I will provide the fix in form of Cheat Engine ASM scripts and tables so anyone can benefit it (with a little work and research if you don't know how to use it).
Best Regards,
Helifax
Thank you again to everyone

Thank you again to everyone working on this, using Hayden's fix now and loving it. With my single 5870 on ultra with 2xAA/16xFiltering I get smooth game play, actually pretty amazed as BF3 just kills my system I have to run @ medium.
Even with the flaws it's at least playable! I'm so damn happy I can't even thank you enough. I can't wait for the final fixes.
One small complaint I haven't seen mentioned, the mouse pointer is really big and zoomed still and doesn't match the menus but I can deal :). Also the introvideo has all moved to the left monitor instead of center.
Very Impressive but ..help with implimentation

I am so impressed with the dedication and focus of you guys. I am a hardware guy since vacuum tubes so I am lost with the instructions on how to impliment this. I am going to go back and read it all again but could someone post a "Surround fix implimentation for dummies" :D ?? When you get a chance and get some rest?
For what it is worth, when I am playing in surround at 5760 X 1200 with the exception of the menu issue all is well, I am getting frame rates in excess of 60 on average and no crashes, no sound issues, GPU temps stay good, I have not as yet checked total mem use or if all cores are being used but it plays well. I am using a pair of EVGA GTX 580's with the latest NV beta driver, no real mouse issues although the U I is a little dumed down but we knew that.
I think Bethesda owes you guys a months salary.......At least!!
Oh, and yes I care about seeing the books. I am an old true RPG gamer since the first Ultima's

Am i the only one that is getting crashes when i launch the game att full resolution? Cant get it running at all at 5760 x 1080.
The weird thing is that the first time it worked perfectrly at full res and with setrtings on high.. now i cant get it running even at 4800 x 900 with low :/ I seem to be the only one having this problem.
I have tried the latest WHQL driver and the beta driver.
Kinda frustrating!

I get crashes within 5-10 minutes when running in 4800x900 resolution. I ran around without any of the fixes enabled, just as a test, and it still crashed. For me, it was texture related. I went to medium textures (from the options menu in Skyrim's launch screen) and the crashes went away. I increased some things and have found a happy medium (decent textures - no crashing).
Running CrossFire HD5850's (1GB memory each, but I think CrossFire only uses one card for memory)
Another crash is related to audio, but that's been well documented on the Skyrim forums (have to lower audio quality to 24-bit and 48Khz in your Windows sound settings).
