Patched: Age of Empires 2 Conquerers

Well, bad luck then. I don't think that you can do anything about it, and the percent of people using a resolution more than 1920 is less than 0.01%, that's why it doesn't get developers' attention.
What about config file, all the settings are stored in player.nfp and they are encrypted. A single small change in the settings makes the whole file change entirely. So you can't force a resolution from outside.
And I don't think that it would play well afterwards...
The last what could be done would be editing the operating memory of the application directly, but this is very hard, at least for me. Maybe my friend will later get more on this.
PS: also it could be possible that the game takes info about resolutions from another place. Although you have 5940x1080 on your resolution options, the game may still listen to the graphics drivers directly, which tells it the resolutions. I don't know...

Hello, I've tried using
Hello,
I've tried using your patch, boekabart, as well as de Bill's, and the even User Patch solution to achieve widescreen resolutions for my 1366x768 HP Laptop and 1600x900 emachine, all of which work in the sense that it is definitely in widescreen and the color is fixed (except de Bill's, that one insists on staying broken). However, they all induce lag and sometimes a graphics hickup while horizontally scrolling. I followed the instructions for each method exactly as written, but even if I run in normal game res (800x600), the lag still occurs. The lag does not occur without any of the above solutions being employed (running a clean install with no patches at all except no-CD). This leads me to think it isn't running in that res that's causing the lag, but the patches themselves. I've looked everywhere to see if someone else has had the same issue and had it solved, but it looks like just about everyone who has used your patch correctly is doing fine, or at least not reporting the lag. I realize this is a year old post, but this is easily my favorite RTS game and I really like the idea of playing this in 1600x900.

here is how I got this to
here is how I got this to work.
1. Install Age of Empires II: Age of Kings and Age of Empires II: The Conquerors.
2. Then go to http://www.voobly.com/pages/view/175/Game-Patches#Age_of_Empires_II_The_Conquerors_Expansion Then download Patch - 1.0e.
*The 1.0c patch would not work for me so I had to download the 1.0e patch
3. Now run and install "AoE2WideSetup"
4. Now you should see a icon on your desktop label "AoE2Wide", double click on that. Let it do its thing.
5. Now you should see a new icon label something like "AoC1.0e 1920x1080" on your desktop. Double click that and now the game should start up.
*side note: Make sure in game to select 1280 x 1024 in the options to force the new resolution. Also the New resolution only affects in game. The main menu wont be affected, just when you start a game that you will see the new resolution.

I wasn't able to get
I wasn't able to get 1080resolution with this method for some reason (only 720), so I used Userpatch1.1 instead.
However the 1080 graphics look like shit, its just zoomed out. It looks nothing like these beautiful screenshots, what gives?
I also noticed when I had this thread's patch working in 720, it looks like Userpatch's 720. So it's definitely not Userpatch's fault.
