Thanks!

Can you also upload the Pharaoh.exe english version? Link from this post is dead http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=14149&p=165662#p165662

EDIT:: Heh I'm dumb, didn't realize resizer makes the file

Thank you all for your widescreen fixes  It's seriously a pleasure to look at xD
I'm having trouble with the following though:

crudelios wrote:If the resizer complains about missing DLL's, please download the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

Some words of warning: First note that due to the way the game is coded, the horizontal resolution must be a multiple of 4, otherwise graphics will appear garbled. That's why a resolution of 1366x768 will not work, since 1366 is not a multiple of 4.
Also, this only works for the Pharaoh + Cleopatra version. For the standalone Pharaoh install, use the old files provided by jackfuste.

If you want to manually change the resolution, you'll need an hex editor. If you don't know what that is, or don't know what little-endianess means, this may not be for you. In that case, use PharaohResizer.

1. Open the Pharaoh.exe I uploaded with the hex editor.
2. Go to offset 0xcfa0a. Change the horizontal resolution (4 bytes, default 0x780 or 80 07 00 00).
3. Go to offset 0xcfa0f. Change the vertical resolution (4 bytes, default 0x438 or 38 04 00 00).
4. Go to offset 0xcfda3. Change the horizontal resolution (4 bytes, default 0x780 or 80 07 00 00).
5. Go to offset 0xcfdad. Change the vertical resolution (4 bytes, default 0x438 or 38 04 00 00).
6. Save the changed exe.
7. Enjoy the game!

Any questions, bugs, problems, etc, please feel free to ask.

Any help finding the missing values for the "special orders" menu will also be very welcome!

I get a missing dll msg for qpi-ms-win-crt-stdio-l1-1-o.dll when I try to run the new resizer. I tried installing C++ 2015 x84 and x64 but both failed to install on my computer.

But I also can't find a working widescreen Pharaoh.exe to download either so I might just be missing that? I'm assuming you should have that first to make it work but I'm not sure :eh: User above answered this one xD Just having problem with dll..

Here is the modded 1080p file:

http://public.zepedro.homenet.org/Pharaoh.exe

I've also updated the link in the original post, so it's easier for everyone to get it.

Also, if anyone with assembly skills is interested, there are still some things I would like to improve but I don't have the time right now. For example, I would like to add the possibility of adding custom resolutions to the game's Display Options settings.

Can you modify that exe to run in 3840x2160? 1080p work nice but in 4k would be better .

Thanks! :savews:

By the way, I wanted to ask you too.. Do you plan to do the same for Zeus ? That would be great too ! :D

Thanks again for your amazing work ! :)

Zeus Ultrawide 2560x1080p Fix
With notepad and a hex editor, two days of comparing files, a lot of crashes, rage quitting and almost giving up a few times I think I made it work. Hope it works for you too.

Thank you to everyone here for their work.

Currently running VBox in a full screen at 1360 x 768 res. C3 works well as is, but the patches created odd effects as some other users have experienced. The mouse location is reported in lower locations than it is, so clicking on menus requires a bit of imagination. See the off positioned

Even if I save 1024 x 768 and exit, and reload saved, upon reload the display setting is back at 640 x 480. Any help would be appreciated.

------- After doing more testing, it seems after setting display to 1024 x 768, saving and exiting the game. When I then go to load the patch, it gets visually stuck at the Loading Sounds.... screen. I can hear everything else loading in the background which I can click through. I am forced to exit.

------- When loading the patch again, it defaults the resolution back to 640 x 480.

First of all thank you a million times for your contribution to Pharaoh (and congratulations).
Now I would kindly ask you if you can do the same for Zeus, Emperor, Caesar III, a Zeus_resizer, CaesarIII_resizer and Emperor_resizer. Otherwise, can you create or tell me how to make .exe for 3440x1440 (21: 9) and 2560x1080 (21: 9) resolution?

Thanks a lot for your help, soon.

Hello to all,

As Alpha writes in the previous post, I also have a 21: 9 3440x1440 or 2560x1080.
Can you help me get .exe with this resolution? Especially for Caesar III, Zeus and Emperor? Currently I see them all distorted. I also have problems with diacritics.
Please help me, thank you very much.
Greetings.

So I saw Cleopatra on the Steam store and was feeling nostalgic and bought it. But its unplayable. The game only lets me see the top left 1/4 of the screen. I read the comments on Steam which led me to this helpful thread. But after trying every resize option I could think of, and playing with my computer's resolution settings nothing has fixed it. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro and using a 4K monitor 4096 x 2160, but even if I take my monitor down to 1028 x 768 it still only shows the top left 1/4 of the game. The funny thing is I can click the buttons on the main menu where they should be, and that works.

Hello CarmelAppleEmp, try to use this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15465721/PharaohResizer.exe and set a higher resolution. Depends on the size of your monitor, but if it is not huge try a 2k.
Just start the executable, choose the resolution, start pharaoh, choose the resolution 1024x768 and the game change with the one you have chose.
Good day.

Download Pharaoh Resizer (Souce code)

1. Set Horizontal Resolution
2. Set Vertical Resolution
3. Save the file to the game's main directory
4. Open the game using the new file
5. Enjoy!

If the resizer complains about missing DLL's, please download the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

5. Go to offset 0xcfdad. Change the vertical resolution (4 bytes, default 0x438 or 38 04 00 00).
6. Save the changed exe.
7. Enjoy the game!

Hi POMAD, there is this modified executable that allows you to play higher resolutions.
Just follow the guide, however, you have to replace the .exe of the resolution you choose, enter the game and select the maximum resolution (1024x768) and automatically change it with your chosen one.

Hi crudelios! I'm glad to see that there is a real community of Pharaoh!

I'm trying to put my Pharaoh resolution to 1920x1080 but it doesn't work.

I downloaded the jack's version of .exe in 1920x1080 but it doesn't work so I tried to download you resizer but your link is dead!

Could you please send a link that works?

Thank you!
