The work-in-progress fix has been uploaded to WSGF (thanks Thales100) and is available if you care to check the detailed report

Skyrim Detailed Report

There are currently still a few pressing issues, such as the stretched 3D models, although this can be reduced, it's difficult to entirely correct - there may be some other snafu's along the way relating to this, I haven't actually had the opportunity to play it too much, because a game like this needs to be experienced properly the first time, I consider it to be 'reasonably' playable now.

It's packaged in a quick and nasty native Win32 API C++ application, it does require administrative permissions to run because it needs to modify memory [in the Skyrim game process only!] - additionally, you may require the Microsoft C++ 2010 Redistributable (you'll get a error on launch if so) --

As per the blurb in the editbox - I advise starting it before Skyrim, clicking Execute Injection, then starting Skyrim, that way it will hook it instantly upon launch.

You have the same problem as I have...books cannot be read.
This is because mov [eax+10],edx (where you inject the code for rendering surface) is needed to render the fonts on the books. The zoomed effect is because the rendering surface is set to 1x screen width:) I have the same problems:(

What I don't manage is to get the UI centered..can you tell em how you did this?:) I am reall interested in this!

Thank you for this fix!!
Best Regards,
Helifax

On a separate note, has anyone ever found a way to remove Nvidia's "due to resource constraints, you can't run this game above 2xAA" that it enforces in every game using 3D + Surround?

That would be amazing, btw this game in 3D Surround... just dont miss it. 8)

Post by helifax »

You cannot remove that... it is locked in the driver. It is locked to 2xAA because think what effort your card(s) must make to render something TWO times in 3X times the single monitor resolution....

Haydens fix works for me if I input 1920, but as I have bezel compensation I am trying to input 1988. When I DO use that, the screen and menu buttons are gone. Any suggestions?

Centering windowed mode, Eyefinity desktop

Post by halfwolf19 »

While I wait patiently for a solid fix, I want to play. So I set it for windowed 1920x1080. But it appears in the left most area of my Eyefinity desktop. I can't seem to find a way to drag that window to the center of the desktop so it appears in the middle monitor. Is there a way to drag this window around my Eyefinity desktop?

Many Thanks

My case:
5230x1050
5230/3=1743. No menu is displayed:(

I just tested with mine: 5890x1080.

Set it to 1963 in Skyrim_UW.exe and it worked like a charm and centered perfectly.

Did you do anything els than running the fix in admin, entering the value, and starting up the game?

That's all I did.. worked great! one additional side effect. screen shots only take your left monitor's images.. kind of weird but not a big deal.

Nope, nothing different.1.

Post by Fornax »

Nope, nothing different.

1. Run Skyrim_UW.exe
2. set resolution offset: 1963
3. Execute Injection
4. Run TESV.exe
5. Wining!

Note, I'm running the Steam version but executing TESV.exe directly from the install folder.
