Here is an example of how to run a mod from the command line:
"E:Program FilesEA GAMESBattlefield 2BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/xpack +ignoreAsserts 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

Replace the xpack with the mod you want to run. The name of the mod will be the name of the folder in the /mods directory. Then it will automatically load up that mod without having to do the activate deal and restart BF2. Hope that helps.

Cool got it working... /mods/ and mods/ makes all the difference. ^^

Hey guys. I'm new to the forums and have a quick question. My new Viewsonic vx2025w is being delivered today and i was wondering if the res hack caused any issues with punkbuster? Can't afford to get into trouble with being a server admin :)

I just got the VX2025wm and used that command and BF2 works fine.
I have noticed it will intermittently sometimes freak out and quit to desktop.
Also it will sometimes just go black and when i do a com/alt/del i can tell the screen rez is on 1152x864 so i am wondering whether i am really getting 1680x1050 ingame even with that shortcut hack. Will do some tests tonight and post screenies.

I get the random quits too. It happens to me when I try to log in. In fact I havent played yet because it always quits. Did you find a fix yet?

Nevermind. I didnt change my user res.

haven't posted screenshots as i don't have the time to do it. Can say that the game is loading at 1680x1050 though not at my default res of 1152x864.

Not sure the random quits are a result of the hack. Never had them before, but now with patch 1.3 i get them. So probably a patch bug, like all the other bugs in 1.3.

I too can't alt+tab out of the game, screen freezes and stays on BF2 picture. One strange thing, i wrote the hack to both of my shortcuts, BF2 vanilla and SF. If i start SF and in browser choose a BF2 vanilla or Armoured Fury map, my game switches but stay stuck in a little window (800x600 ? 1280x768 ?) Same thing if i use the vanilla to go to SF. Hacke does not seem to work on game switch.

you guys using dual core x2 or core duo? there is a VERYYY well know problem that bf2 does not like dual core cpus... i have this problem with my X2 and it's basically 50/50 that it will hard crash to desktop while playing, but on my other (athlon 64 4000) it's perfect. if you have no choice, try the dual core fix from AMD site and the dual core fix from microsoft. also, once bf2 is running, alt tab, ctrl alt del into processes. right click bf2.exe set affinity to only 1 core. barely helps. :?

Hi, I was directed to this post. I ordered a 2407WFP, and I was directed to this post.

So, do we need to change the FOV?

Also, with my AMD 4200+ X2, 2gigs of ram, and x1800xt 512mb video card, what kind of FPS can I expect at 1920x1200 with all settings on high? (General FPS obviously.)

Thanks.

Also, to keep my FPS at least around 40 generally, what settings will I have to down, if any?

There is really no need to put everything on High quality, i don't remember where , but there is a tutorial around that gives you what settings do at wich quality. Almaost all settings over medium don't change anything, execpt slowing you computer down...BF2 is not a very "high" quality graphic game...IMHO...

Yeah, but it's still nice. :P

I think that if a x850xt pe can do all high on 1680 or 1920, I'll be ok. :)

I really wish I could OC mine...I mean I could, but I would need to put an aftermarket cooler on it and I don't want to go through that right now. :)

Found the site, look here you'll see there is no reason to put everything on High because no visual difference can be seen.

There are no FOV hacks that work for BF2 at the moment so if it does do the TH res it will look very bad as the top and bottom will be severely chopped .... :(

I have a question, don't know if it was addressed in this thread already(tried search and skimmed).

Using the shortcut switches to change the res to widescreen(1440 x 900), what should I set the ingame res at? I normally ran @ 1152 x 864. Should I leave it as is or change it?

Leave it. If you touch it I think it reverts.
