Yep no problems, I only got kicked a while ago for FRAPs and they fixed that. Using the v1.7 MP (SAFE).

Same with me. MP (SAFE) works perfectly. The "regular" MP, however, was getting me kicked.

So what is safe then? I never tried that because i thought it ran cod4 in the safe mode which sets the rez and options to low values? I'll try running it in safe and see what i get. If that's the case then why not just get rid of the regular MP 1.7 option and use the Safe MP 1.7 and rename it to MP 1.7?

No not CoD4 in safe mode, it is safe for PBuster and says so in the release notes.

i still dont see why there are 2 diff cod4 mp options but whatever. the safe mode option does work and i am no longer being booted. it was just confusing that there were 2 options there when the others dont have that 'safe' option. thanks.

Well, IIRC, they went up as a test first and now it works so why should Dopefish waste his time changing it? It works so who cares, it is free so just live with it. If it really bothers donate and ask for DF to change it with your donation.

I added support along the way for each Call of Duty version that came out. It was not until v1.7 that I managed to get a safe, working version. The word safe is meant to imply that it's safe to use online. I leave the old entries there for compatibility and/or someone might find them useful.

I don't recall me saying I was NOT able to live with it mach .00009 pants. Especially considering it is free and works great for WAW which is pretty much all I play anyway. Relax champ.
Dopefish: What was the issue behind the problems with these fixes? Was it that you got permission from PB to do it and so they added it to a list of approved options on their end or did you have to code around their restrictions?

It's all coded around the restrictions. ;)
They just unofficially approve of it.
The reason it works now is that when WaW came out, I discovered a new way to apply the fix that didn't conflict with PB, and I backported this fix to CoD4.

Nice. You are the man. I just scored a used digital th2g with 3x19's to replace my old analog with 3x17's and the clarity difference is night and day so I'm finding myself playing more and more games on the th2g setup now instead of just my usual fsx. Thanks for the utility.

To those experiencing crashes online; are you guys using SoftTH or a TripleHead2Go?
If you're using SoftTH, it might be the cause of the punkbuster kick, since it uses a d3d9.dll replacement to work its magic.

Dopefish, I just tried to play some CoD4 in triplehead now that I have got Windows 7. But the fixer doesn't change the aspect ratio of FOV to make the game look good. However, it does make all of the HUD elements go to the center screen.
I have tried computability modes and running the executables with administrative privileges on both the fixer and on the singleplayer executable.
I do hope you can come up with an idea or two to make this work out.

It should work fine in W7 still. I use W7 RC and it works.
Someone else was having a problem getting it to work (but not related to W7 I believe) and his solution was to start the fixer after COD4 was already running. You can try that and see if it makes a difference.
The fixer will only correct the aspect ratio. The FOV is up to you to adjust via the console.
I guess try starting the fixer afterwards and testing that first. If that doesn't work, I'll have to think of other reasons that would possibly stop it from working.

Well, what I meant to say was that the view of the game didn't change, just the the HUD.
I'll try that, I hope it works. I already reinstalled and everything.
UPDATE
I tried opening the fixer after loading up a campaign, using both the methods for 1.7 SP. Still no dice. Although nothing changed either so I guess that could be a good thing?
